A friend took us - what a surprise as it is very hidden away. We had a most interesting morning's guided tour just the right length of time.

we were in a party of Rotary members, exploring local places of interest. The visit was in 2 parts, one of the general work of intelligence services and the other on specialised intelligence photography.
Each was good, though we found the general collection more absorbing. It was a revelation to know that the "West" was "allowed" to visit the Russian sector of Germany during the Cold war, as part of a reciprocal agreement, even if they were sometimes made less than welcome. I suppose it made for less suspicion of what the other side could be up to.
Entrance is free, but it is convention to make a donation, which can be tax-effective.

An excellent museum with knowledgeable staff. There is so much to this museum that I shall have to return. The guided tour was great. A very knowledgable guide (Mike) took us through the main highlights of the museum and many interesting tales. Leave yourself sufficient time to view this museum! There is a great deal of history to look at and learn from.

This was the first visit on our two day package tour on this theme. We were welcombed by the curator and then shown round by two volunteers The visit was interesting and I learnt a number of things I hadn't previously known. I appreciated seats being provided at points during the tour so I didn't have to stand all the time.

Went there on the 14th June and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. As others have said you have to book in advance and sign in as it's a working Army base. Then one of the guides comes and collects you and if you're lucky like me you have the whole place to yourself! There's lots of interesting exhibits and I particularly enjoyed the SOE exhibition as it's a subject I'm extremely interested in. The guides are absolutely superb and there's nothing about Army intelligence they don't know about. I really can't recommend it highly enough and congratulate all those involved for their hard work and dedication. A hidden gem of a museum for sure!

A superb museum, with an amazing selection of unique intelligence related artefacts that you won’t see anywhere else, all very nicely displayed, as well as the complementary Medmenham photo interpretation collection. The tour, with an enthusiastic and extremely knowledgeable guide, was excellent and very informative on both the history and background of intelligence gathering and the personal stories of some very brave people involved in intelligence work. The two hour tour simply flew by, and could easily have spent much longer afterwards studying many of the exhibits in more detail.
While you have to book a visit in advance, that’s not difficult, and it’s very well worth it, and for an real insight into these behind the scenes military activities it’s a must.
Use the SatNav postcode for the main gate as given on the museum website, and it’s easy to find.
Very highly recommended.

The museum is not large but it is well laid out.There is a tour guide who takes you around the exhibits in an engrossing 2 hours. You have to prebiotic your visit and bring I'd such as a passport with you.A morning very well spent.
