We were in the local Hilton resort near Selvatelle when we decided to visit Peccioli which was only a six minute drive from the resort. The town was mostly deserted in late September so we could take our time strolling through the streets and enjoying the architecture and spectacular view of the valley below. The lift up to the sixth floor was under repair so we had to walk the stairs from the parking garage on the first floor.

We spent a peaceful beautiful afternoon in this town and loved this charming church that seem to match the people of this town.

This church is interesting and photogenic both inside and outside. The altar area is impressively decorated for a smaller church in a small village. Step inside to sit and rest after the walk down, admire, and meditate. The neighborhood is worth the walk with slightly inclined narrow streets with shops, cafes, and laundry hanging out. We visited early in the morning when the local cafe near the church was occupied by several local men in animated conversation. We bought post cards in the cafe.
