Must see. Good state of conservation, especially since it is only open to the public part of the year because it is shared with bats the rest of the time.

This little known site is a must see if you have the remotest interest in history.
This is the site of the V3 super-gun that was to be used for the shelling of London by the Germans in WWII Hidden deep underground in a maze of extensive tunnels dug by slave labourers who died in their hundreds.
This was another of Hitler's "super weapons" that never came to fruition, the complex was bombed by the British more than once using "Tallboy" bombs which crippled the site.

Very interesting visit to the fortress. We had the chance to take advantage of the guided tour of the prohibited areas and hillsides. Thanks to Antoine and his colleagues for this visit.

a shame can be a site to exploit if we put the means into it

Friendly welcome, I recommend exploring the places with a guide (for dates, go to the Facebook site). I went to visit the fortress during the heat, a breath of fresh air. Don't hesitate to take a vest, even during heatwaves!

A cool visit, very pleasant to do.
We learn a lot about Hitler's desire to attack London.
The guides at reception are extremely kind and explain to us everything we want to know about the fortress!
Interesting visit and friendly staff: a good recipe for a good time.

Site first visited more than 20 years ago. I found the visit much more impressive than that. The humidity level was much higher which gave more interesting photos.
Plus it seemed to me that we could see more things like the effect of a tallboy bomb.
The children were able to see two bats. They were delighted

Bonjour, malheureusement nos amis les chiens ne sont pas admis dans la forteresse car c'est un espace naturel sensible. Par contre, selon l'affluence, il arrive que les chiens restent à l'accueil.

The visit usually last 1 hour ans rates are €5.50 per adult or €12.50 for a family (2 adults ans 1-5 children).
