It has been a few years since I walked down Mount Pleasant. I was shocked to see the state of disrepair and neglect of the former Art College. The Robin Club appeared to be thriving again and The Art Deco Beldray Building is being turned into flats.
I was amazed how few visitors the Craft Gallery achieves. Information on the history of the local area was of interest with relevant displays and paintings from local artists.
Evidently there has been some success on occasions in involving the local community which perhaps offer more opportunities including educational. The children would certainly enjoy the model dinosaurs!
There is also a large and pleasant garden area which was unfortunately closed during my visit as apparently the foxes are digging tunnels. Nevertheless a worthwhile and enjoyable visit!

A gallery with a difference - this isn't a stuffy place that makes you feel unwelcome, you can come here with your family and you know you can enjoy the place.

you walk from the library into the museum and art gallery, you come face to face with a dinosaur toweing over you then has you enter the other room you have another dinosaur and a harley davison motor bike and has you go furthur in you see more just go and have a look its free and well worth a visit

In addition to the local library there is a small craft gallery containing some exhibits which feature local trades and crafts. A area is set aside for regularly changing exhibitions and installations.

My son is 3 and we have been coming since he was a baby! They run some sensory classes craft play which are great!! A bit exspensuve at £4 byt cheaper than some classes and so much fun! It gives children the chance to explore different items how they want to and alliws for out the box thinking. This resorse is not advertised or used enough.

Nice surprise when I walked around with my friend. Enjoyed the display and peace quiet there. Be carful with the opening times, as it would be disappointing if you could not get in as planned.

Nice little place to have a walk round some nice interesting features of got there plus you’ve got the library so if you go and take a book out you can always have a walk round and spend an hour or two there really friendly staff deafly worth a visit if you in the local area

Go in here a lot as they have a load of different travelling exhibitions. Lovely garden at the rear, but don't expect to park anywhere close! Worth popping in, if you're in the area.

On exiting Bilston metro station turn right past post office. At the end of the street turn left walking past Bilston town hall. At the traffic lights turn right into mount pleasant, the library and gallery is a short walk on the right. About a 5 minute walk from metro.
