I highly recommend checking out this underrated and relatively unexplored habitat.
The mangroves are at once picturesque and a bit creepy (kind of like myself!). Blue water meets the vibrant green of mangrove trees. It's mostly a relaxing paddle, while you scan the water, canopy, and sky for wildlife. It gets adventurous in places, as you squeeze through increasingly narrow waterways deep into the mangrove forest
Also, Matt is a fun and chilled out guide.

Una experiencia súper divertida, haciendo padelsurf en el rio grande y con Matt de guía muy dedicado que se conoce cada punto. Es una experiencia alternativa y divertida en Santa Catalina. Muy recomendable

This is my second time visiting Santa Catalina primarily for the surfing, and decided to try the SUP river tour to give my body a break. What an AMAZING time! Super chill trip, was able to SUP down a really cool mangrove area and see wildlife and serenity all in one. Our tour guide Matt was incredible, he was knowledgeable and super funny while showing us the ins and outs of the ecosystem and best places to fall :)
I will definitely do this again when I come back!

Wir haben vor Ort gebucht, Ollie hat sich Zeit genommen und uns alles erklärt, abgeholt wurden wir von Matt und hatten eine schöne SUP Tour. Wir haben die Ruhe genossen. Die Mangroven waren beeindruckend. Vielen Dank!

The Tour was amazing! To paddle through the mangroves, be surrounded of the big roots and crabs crawling up the trees while hummingbirds are singing was like being in an other mystical world. Also we saw a lizard and something like a monkey or cat. At the end we had a beautiful view from the beach to other small green islands. Just the coconuts were already eaten. I would recommend the tour for every adventurer. Learning the basics of stand up paddling is pretty easy. But - don't miss the mosquito spray so that you can really enjoy your trip!

Diese Tour können wir jedem nur empfehlen, der Sinn an Natur und Ruhe zusammen mit ein bisschen Bewegung hat. Wir hatten vorher noch nie auf einem Board gestanden und sind auch keine 20 Jahre mehr alt. Es gab jedoch nichts zu beanstanden und wir haben den Tag sehr genossen. Der Kontakt erfolgte per WhatsApp. Wir erhielten sofort Antwort auf alle unsere Fragen. Unser Guide Matt holte uns pünktlich am Hostel ab. Danach fuhren wir zum Strand. Nach einer kurzen Einführung ging es los. Wir paddelten durch die Mangroven, genossen die Ruhe und erfuhren sehr viel über die Natur und den Sinn der Mangroven von unserem Guide Matt. Zusammen mit einem Badestop und einer frischen Kokosnuss war das ein gelungener Ausflug, der uns sehr gut gefallen hat und den wir nur empfehlen können.

Wunderschöne Tour durch die Mangroven. Wir waren erst unsicher da wir vorher noch nie auf nem Paddleboard gestanden haben aber man bekommt den Dreh schnell raus.
Diese Stille auf dem Fluss und nur die Geräusche der Natur zuhören war unglaublich. Abgeschlossen haben wir die Tour an einem wunderschönen Strand, welchen wir mit perfektem Timing zum Sonnenuntergang erreichten. Unser guide Matt machte währen der gesamten Tour Fotos, hatte Wasser dabei und erklärte uns die Umgebung.

The SUP in the mangroves was extraordinary. To be in the middle of nature, without noise, without boat or tourist. I recommend this paddle trip to anyone come in Santa Catalina, it changes snorkeling and surfing !!
