Interesting tour through Presicce and the must see place, the old oil Mills. They're all connected together, we went underground and we visited the most of those places. Interesting to see how they produced the oil for lamps in those rooms so dark and small , living underground for months and months

The only way to visit a place in depth is to turn to those who know it well and who better than the president of the local Pro Loco can fulfill this task?
The visit to the underground oil mills is a must for those who want to know how the workers lived and how the lampante oil used by nobles from all over Europe to illuminate their homes was produced.
The visit also gives access to places that would be forbidden to those who prefer to make do to visit the place independently.

Discovered this visit, on Recommendation of a niece of my wife, turned out to be one of the most interesting experiences of our holiday in Salento.Nel village of Presicce in the subsoil are preserved ancient oil mills of the time when Presicce exposed its oil in England, France and even Russia, where it was used to illuminate the cities.The friendly and competent Claudia, our Guide, made us discover, in a tour of about an hour and thirty, even the architectural treasures of this beautiful village.

Beautiful guided tour with Claudia, competent and passionate. The tour was very interesting between history and art. Guide is essential for explanations, historical reconstruction and to enter the atmosphere of the past.

Beautiful visit of the village of Presicce with a very prepared and passionate Guide. The beautiful hypogea can be visited, the ducal palace and the museum contained in it are very interesting. Highly recommended.

An incredible place to visit to learn about a very little known aspect of the history of oil production in Salento.
Our Guide, Francesco, took us on a fascinating journey explaining (in English because we had American friends) very well and with passion the history, culture and tradition of Presicce and its underground oil mills.

Da quello che so si può accedere solo con visita guidata e ce ne dovrebbe essere una alle 18 e una alle 19 tutti i giorni....poi c è una sera....il giovedì....si fa alle 22 (questa solo se si prenota....le altre no)

Noi siamo andati lì ieri nel tardo pomeriggio siamo andati all’info point sotto il palazzo ducale di fronte alla chiesa Sant’Andrea e ci hanno accompagnato subito alla visita dura circa poco più di un ora ne vale la pena!

Buonasera, ai frantoi ipogei si accede solo con visita guidata. Il giro parte da piazzetta Villani e rispetta i seguenti orari( periodo estivo):
_ ore 10.00 tutti giorni esclusi domenica e lunedì.
_ore 18.15 tutti i giorni nessuno escluso
_ore 19.00 tuttii giorni nessuno escluso
SOLO IL GIOVEDÌ a partire dal 26 Luglio( per il periodo estivo) è previsto un giro in notturna a partire dalle ore 22.00.

É meglio prenotarla e,se non sono cambiati gli orari, la domenica si tiene di mattina, ma su richiesta magari trovano delle guide disponibili anche il pomeriggio...
Sono volontari e hanno un grande amore per ciò che fanno, quindi prova a chiedere e vedrai che faranno di tutto per venirti incontro 😊
