What a find. Having played a number of golf courses in the Bintan/ Batam area...this by far and away the best.
Travel from Singapore is from the Tanah Merah ferry terminal...which to be honest is the only downside as its a little isolated and can be difficult to get a cab home.
Ferry takes about 45 mins....and from then on your clubs are handled by the club rep. Bus to the golf club...nice changing facilities and bar area...with a hotel above the clubhouse which I may well use at some stage for a long weekend.
On to the course....a stunning course...with a good test of golf....and a lot of water and forest to keep you on your toes. Fairways were well maintained and greens were good...slowed by heavy rain in out case. Caddy was super helpful....and corrected some of the reads on greens...thank goodness. Holes 7..8..9 are fabulous....stunning views...the short 9th the best of all....
Watch out for the monkeys and the snakes!!!
Food at clubhouse was simple and tasty...as was the beer.
We will be back.

The weather was bad. I wish it was better. Even after Covid, in the heaviest of rains, the drainage was excellent. The fairways were wonderful. We were impressed that there weren't any cow grass invasion. The course was friendly, but allows you to risk your chances. It was definitely very picturesque. The staff was very efficient for booking. In comparison, I had 23 emails to book one round with Laguna Bintan. The front staff, especially Ribka was so helpful. We were interested in a stay and play package, so was asking to see rooms. She couldn't show us as it was full, but had the initiative to show us pictures. Many potential guests these days are wary of hotel room pictures because they are not taken recently. And also if we want to stay we need to know what any of the room options look like. So could u guys consider putting room pictures on the website? Then we can plan better. Wish you do have balconies for the rooms. Would be entertaining to see monkeys crossing the fairways!

We played yesterday in a group of seven.
The course is stunning but the greens were absolutely terrible, so slow and not in good order, shame as it really ruined the experience.
One of the caddies had a terrible cold and in these COVID times should not have been working and handling clubs for our clients, they were very unhappy about that.
We came in from Singapore and it was really slow entering via the ferry.
Really stupid system on arrival where they take your passport while you wait in the Emerald lounge. This is not the fault of the golf course but kinds of affects the timings and the experience.

We are a golfer couple and we did the right decision to spend our weekend getaway at Ria Bintan Golf Club. Superb Ocean course!! We even repeated Hole 8 and Hole 9 of Ocean course two days in a row! simply fantastic view for a fun-tastic golf experience. Highly recommended Golf Course in Indonesia!

Fantastic course and facilities, stayed 9 days pre-Covid. Don't have a bad thing to say about this gem. Course, accommodation, restaurant, staff..... all A1. Would recommend to anyone.

This is a fantastic golf course! It has perfect fairways and the greens are smooth and quick. There are also many wonderful views especially around the ocean.

Really nice course and easy to organise ferry form Singapore. Good caddies and carts. Nice layout and scenery. A bit pricey compared to other courses. Restaurant food below average and very over priced so rather eat at hotel.

シンガポールからフェリーで1時間ちょっと。
リアビンタンゴルフ場を利用しました。きれいなゴルフ場で、景色も良いです。売りは海超えのパー３。インドネシアでは高級ゴルフコースですが１度は行く価値ありです。コスパはバタムのほうが良いですね。

Recently spend the year end at Ria Bintan Golf Club, the golf was great, the course condition was good. The course was fairly uncrowded. I have visited this course over a dozen times, but have been for a few years, notices that there were some caddy changes, lots of younger caddies, so they are not that familiar with the courses but that is fine with me
I would recommend the following
- do the stay and play, it is worth since the island is a beautiful get away from singapore
- when booking for your ferry, pay extra and pay for the emerald first class, its a top up of 44 sgd round trip, but the immigration process and wait at the emerald lounge makes the trip much enjoyable
- Also wait for some golf promotion, sometimes there are really great golf fee promotions just one week before, it may not be ria bintan, it could be laguna golf course but if you are looking to save a few bucks it is worth checking out.
I would recommend the following

What is the usual caddy fee for a round of golf and do you pay in Indonesian money?

Caddy fee is included in the golf fees. It is customary for the caddies to receive tips for a good job well done - especially reading/confirming the line for putts, for enduring our insistence in playing through the odd squalls of rain and searching for lost balls when a draw became a hook.
Yes I pay using Indonesian currency, usually 150,000-200,000 Rupiah.

Dear Scott J, we do have a small private beach area at Ocean Course Hole 10, which guests may relax at during their stay. Day passes to Club Med and Nirwana Gardens are available for sale at the Reception should you wish to use facilities such as the pool, bath, sauna and other sporting activities. Thank you.
