The loveliest family run windmill, with a bakery, tearoom and play area attached. In a beautiful setting with lovely views across the Norfolk countryside. We were able to climb up into the windmill itself (full height not for the faint hearted but you can do it in stages so you don’t have to go all the way up if you don’t fancy it!). Lovely bakery selling home made treats, my little boy (3) took part in the bread making activity, where he rolled and shaped his own dough into buns which were then cooked for him while we explored the windmill. This was brilliant fun for all the family. There is also a lovely tearoom serving delicious homemade food, and a cute little play area with a slide and sandpit, plus a horse and a donkey to pet and feed. Also a fascinating array of artefacts and windmill information which was really interesting. A lovely day out.

We stayed a night here, it was quiet and so peaceful.
The next morning we had breakfast at the on site restaurant which was lovely. The staff are friendly and the bread well let’s just say hubby went on for a loaf and came out with half the bakery.
We didn’t do the windmill part simply because we had a dog with us. He was really happy as there was a tin of doggy treats on the table.
I think the place is a little gem. We will definitely go back.
The only slight negative for us at 42 pounds for one night seems a little steep. A weeks stay would cost as much as a self catering cottage.
I’d go back just for the bakers!!

A small cosy cafe next to the bakery and windmill (which is not working at the time of writing). We had sone flapjack and a brownie with a pot of tea - homemade and delicious!

The windmill is a great attraction and worth a visit but could be expensive for a family of four. The cafe had some lovely cakes which were hard to resist too.
As for the campsite, the pitches are very well spaced out but as for the facilities for the money they are charging, it is very expensive and in much need of modernisation.

Fantastic place and really good food.
There are few places where you feel genuinely relaxed with young children. The beauty of this place is its safety and the fact there’s lots for them to do. Meanwhile you can eat in peace while they play.
A special place that deserves recognition. The Brekfast was 10/10.

I have brought my family for a day trip and my 3 year old and 14 year loved it. The staff are amazing, prices very reasonable, the bread making experience was fun, the history and going up the mill was really interesting and they have really made an effort explaining how it all worked. The views are great and you can walk out on the outside. Even my 3 year old wanted to do that. We had chosen a rainy day but if it was dry they have a sand pit and slide etc to enjoy. Getting a 14 year off his gadgets and experience he even said that it was fun. The food is great with fresh bread, buns scones, cupcakes to buy. Nest time we are in this area we will definitely return .

Went here for a day out spent 3 hours here was rally good for the kids too made bread which they loved climbed the windmill rang the bell stairs are steep so small kids will probably not like it as much but was nice to see the little museum and gift shop and lovely food in the cafe.

Lovely windmill and owners/staff.
We just came for tea and cake which was delicious, looked round a nice shop and sadly being late in the day the bakery was sold out but that’s probably a testament to the products. A great stop on our exploration of the area and thoroughly enjoyed tea outside in the sun under the windmill!

We came just expecting to stay an hour or so but ended up spending several hours there was so much to enjoy and plenty for the children to do (age 4 and twins 11 months). We came on a weekday in term time so it wasn't overly busy. We visited the mill and some of us climbed to the top, some of us did the make and bake which was great for our 4 year old (and the baked rolls in different shapes turned out great and tasted lovely. We stayed for lunch and there were plenty of options for all ages. The food was quick and reasonably priced, and all very well done. The pasties were absolutely fantastic, the best we've had for a long time!). We ordered a variety of cakes/desserts to share and all were delicious no complaints at all. Staff were all really friendly and helpful. There was sandpit, swings, slide, playhouse and safe contained outdoor area for children to run around and play safely. Plenty of picnic benches and tables chairs to eat outdoor. Also a few animals for the children to see. Toilet facilities all clean and accessible too. Overall a fantastic family day out at somewhere authentic that isn't overpriced. Would come again if we are back in the area.

Great place to visit - adults & children alike. Lots of freshly baked goods and food in the cafe is tasty & fresh. Veg quiche and salad fantastic - no sad looking salad here ️. Pooches allowed in the cafe which is wonderful, there's even a little tin of dog biscuits around to pacify them if neccessary.
Staff are friendly, efficient and local Norfolk people - what is there not to like . A true Authentic Norfolk Experience - 5 stars

can you have campfires on the camping site if they are above ground?

hi there yes you can have BBQ as long as it is off the ground or campfires in the middle of the campsite on the concrete slabs
