For us this was the highlight of our holiday. What a beautiful and varied trip.
We did this walk on a Thursday in November. We combined the walk with blue rectangles with the trip with yellow wiggles (no. 22). With this we immediately passed the Fonds de Quarreux. The total distance came to 13.5km where we took 4:30 including breaks. During our trip it was very quiet. The number of walkers we have encountered can be counted on two hands.

Very nice walk along the only official mountain river in Belgium. Bridges built to get over the water. Not suitable for people with a lesser condition and not suitable for small children. Good walking shoes provided!

A discovery for us today. Stunning landscapes, the beauty of nature. However, make provision for suitable footwear and clothing because hiking is relatively slippery in case of rain.

Very nice hike. Fun and challenging for the kids. Alternating for the elderly. The first part you walk up along a river. Through the water or over bridges. Steps, sometimes along a steel cable. Sometimes very narrow. The 2nd part is much easier and broader, but then the kids are more tired so that is better. There is also a beautiful viewpoint. There is nothing else along the way. No catering, no toilet, no rubbish bin. Nothing

Magical walk next to a sometimes foaming torrent; spectacular waterfalls, sporting footbridges, and almost untouched nature if we forget the orange peels left by a stupid individual.

Magnificent and unique place that must be discovered at the very beginning of the day in order to avoid the hordes of “tourists” who have invaded this little gem over time.

First hike in our own country, what a wonderful place. We found the info on the internet, but were given much more at the tourist office.
The walk itself was not as hard as we thought it would be, but what an adventure for our boys (13 and 11). They loved every step of it!
Definitely a BIG recommendation!

Is de wandeling weer open voor iedereen? Of gelden de beperkingen nog altijd?

Sorry voor het late antwoord. Aangezien ik in Vlaanderen woon, kon ik daar toch niet op antwoorden. Ondertussen zal deze wandeling wel open geweest zijn, maar gezien de onweders van de laatste tijd zou het wel eens kunnen dat ook nu weer deze toch niet meer kan doorgaan. Ik zou er nu toch zeker niet meer naartoe gaan... Toch blijft het echt een aanrader om te doen.

Open. De dranghekkens zijn aan de kant geschoven. Aan de ingang hangt echter nog een affiche (van november 2020) van de burgemeester waarop staat dat het tot nader order afgesloten is. Er waren vandaag verschillende gezinnen op wandel.

Is het gebied (september 2020) open voor toeristen buiten de gemeente Aywaille? Wil er graag volgende week wandelen maar wil zeker weten dat ik (als Nederlander) die wandeling kan maken.
