青森デトックス旅　ニンニク

冬なので田んぼアートは見れませんでしたがいいお土産が買えました。それは青森とも言えばニンニク。大量にそしてお安く青森産のニンニクを買うことができました。大きさも様々で沢山ある。
ついでにりんごジュースもゲット。

田んぼアート

田んぼアートの時期に行きました。地上からは何が描かれているのか全くわかりませんでしたが、展望台から見る景気は素晴らしかったです。

田んぼアートが見れたなら…

2021年8月

季節限定で停車する田んぼアート駅から５分もしないところに道の駅があります。田んぼアートも有名なんですが、残念ながらコロナの影響で展望台は閉められていました。仕方がないので、電車の折り返し30分ぐらいで少し買い物をしました。ご当地のリンゴジュースとか売っているので楽しいです。でも、同様の道の駅はたくさんあると思うので、田んぼアートとセットで楽しみたいですね。

2021年は田んぼアート中止

国道102号沿いにある道の駅です。田んぼアートで有名な場所ですが、covid-19の影響で観覧は中止になっていたのが残念でした。また、JRAのウインズが併設されており、いろいろと楽しめる場所でもあります。

多くの施設があるが使いづらい

2019年11月

国道102号線沿いにある道の駅で、施設は産直市場とレストラン、博物館と埋蔵物文化財センターのほか、パターゴルフ、遊具、田んぼアート第二会場など、多くの施設が整備されていました。
ただし、田んぼアート第二会場と展望台は10月6日終了で展望台も閉鎖、遊具は入場料の他に施設内にある電車や自転車などは別途利用料がかかり、パターゴルフも有料と、ちょっと使いづらい施設と思います。
産直市場にはりんごやお米はじめ地元産の農作物が並んでいて、価格もリーズナブルでした。
隣接地に博物館と埋蔵物文化財センターがありましたが、共に10時開館で開館前のため入ることはできず、すぐ近くにウインズとボートレースの場外売場がありました。

田んぼアート第二会場と石のアートを鑑賞するために訪問しました。アート関係の他にも子供用の遊び場もあり、とても広大な道の駅で、地元品を売るお店もありました。

田んぼアートの第２会場に隣接しています。周囲はのどかな田んぼが広がる中、道の駅ならよくある産直センターやレストランとは一線を画すように、埋蔵文化センターがあります。

This roadside location is the Second Rice Paddy Art field with observatory and playgrounds

Inakadate is a small rice farming village. In 1993 the village people came up with ideas of designing mural size of rice fields, which have been growing rice for over 2000 years, to boost the local economy. Each year project planners choose themes from popular movies/anime characters, talented artists and their artworks, historical characters, etc. Farmers would use computer to sketch the images them select colors of the rice stalks to plant. In 2003 the exhibit of First Rice Paddy Art showcased image of Da Vinci's Mona Lisa. From 2006 on, the Rice Paddy Arts has become one of the major attractions in Aomori Prefecture; attracting tens of thousands of visitors during summer rice growing season.

I have had an opportunity to revisit Hirosaki this summer and Rice Paddy Art was on my agenda since Hirosaki is a nearby city with easy access by Konan train to the Second Rice Paddy Field, which is just located by a roadside rest area. From JR Hirosaki Station, you take Konan railway at the lower level of the station and buy tickets from its own ticket window. Next departing time will show above the ticket gate. Konan Rail tracks are separated from the JR tracks. It takes 23 min., get off at TAMBOARTO, a seasonally operated station with rise-up platform. You will see the Second Rice Art Paddy's observatory and playgrounds but cannot see the entire image of the rice paddy art at roadside level. Nearby are two large pebble stone arts with characters of chosen artists.

To view the Second Rice Paddy Arts at Inakadate's Michi-no-eki rest area you must buy your tickets from self-help ticket machine on the ground floor of the observatory, admission is 300 yen/adult. A staff is standing by to help. The elevator will take you up to a 360-degrees viewing balcony surrounded with guardrails. Balcony space is quite narrow, visitors must take turns to go around. There is only one large rice paddy art at this roadside area, and usually theme is from anime characters chosen to celebrate the significance of the years celebrated since the manga or anime program was run in public. This year the Second Rice Paddy Art is chosen from anime characters of Garapiko-pu, a popular TV program since 1959, celebrating its 60th creation. The chose portrait images for the pebble stone arts are singer/actress Hibari Misora and movie star Kuruma Torajiro. From Second Rice Paddy Arts visitor's parking lot you can catch a free shuttle bus taking you to the First Rice Paddy Arts by Village Hall.
