Unprofessional operator who dont care abt yur safetyThis is the worst ski school we hv ever encountered in our yrs of skiing.
We booked 3 days of 2 private instructors for 5hrs each day for mar 13, 14&15 (almost as good as the whole day) for skiing in various courses in hakuba.
On our first day on mar 13, it was raining heavily in the morning and prompted a Japan Meterologucal Agency warning of thunderstorms and avalanche in nagano till 12noon. For safety reasons, we decided to postpone our lessons from 10am to 11am and when it was still raining at 11am to 1pm to wait it out Most ski schools would hv had no problem esp based on a JMA warning. But our Daniel called me at 11am and said he didnt read the 10am whatsapp and he couldnt be expected to read his hp 24/7 and cos we didnt want to ski at 11am (still raining non stop), he decided to cancel all our 3 days of lessons eith no recourse.
This is a very high-handed and unprofessional way of cancelling our bookings. He doesnt care abt our safety. He also doesnt care abt avalaunche warning. He also doesnt care that families who hv planned painstakingly for an expensive sli holiday will not br able to look for alternative ski instructor onsite.
This is indeed disappointing that such a person is allowed to behave so yakuza-like in a land of culture and grace.
Thos who untend to engage him should think twice. If the same happen to you, you hv been warned. This guy can really screw up your holiday.

Excellent ski school for children. My son learned 2 private classes and 2 group classes. He very much enjoys learning to ski with all teachers at Hakuba Snow Sports. Hakuba iimori is beginner friendly ski slope. Highly recommend it if you want to learn to ski with English speaking school at Hakuba.

We're a couple in our fifties trying to learn snowboarding as absolute beginners with little prior snow sports experience. The initial communication with Daniel (Manager) and Simon (Owner) was very smooth and professional. They listened to our needs and helped us tailor the private lessons to meet our goal, which is being able to do simple s-turns in easy green lines.
We're very fortunate to have Luke as our instructor. We managed to get much more out of the lessons than we could ever bargain for. In just five 3-hour lessons, he helped me get to level 4. I can now confidently do S-turns with various apertures and speeds in green and easy red lines. My girlfriend also managed to get to level 3 and can take on many green lines well. Luke knew when to take things slow and when to push our envelopes, keeping us always challenged and progressing safely at a pace that we thought was impossible for our ages.
We've now fallen in love with snowboarding and will definitely come back next year for more lessons with Luke and Hakuba Snow Sports School. We thank Luke, Daniel, and Simon for igniting our newfound passion!

Our coaches Luke from Australia and Jack from UK are amazing. They taught us 2 days of snowboarding and skiing. We are group of 4 adults with 3 teenager and a 10 yr old

Had a 2-day private 3 hour session with instructor Sam J on 12 and 13 Dec 2022. He is one of the most patient person I have ever met. Throughout the 2 days, he showed no signs of frustration or tireness as I kept falling and needed him to lead me down the slopes. He did not rushed me and let me learn at my own pace. He answered all my questions and clarifications with professionalism and detailed knowledge. He was very encouraging and attentive. He was able to identity my mistakes immediately, demonstrate what I did wrongly and explained how to do it correctly. I was very fortunate to choose this ski school for my lessons and I have picked up some good basic skills. The school is blessed to have such a passionate and easy-to-chat-with instructor.
The booking was easy and emails were answered promptly. Look forward to the next trip.

Two of my teenagers wanted to try snowboarding. So we headed to Hakuba for the weekend. Lucked out and came across Hakuba Snow Sports School just up from our hotel. I have nothing but great things to say about my kids instructor, Merry. I got them private lessons at ¥20,000 for both for 2 hours. My kids told me it was the most fun they’ve had in awhile. They also told me Merry was better than any ski instructors they’ve had in the past. Besides Merry, I interacted with some of the other staff. They are a mix of Kiwis, Aussies, and UK folks. All are native English speakers and very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this company to anyone traveling to Hakuba wishing to get ski or snowboard lessons. The slopes the school used were also perfect for learning. My kids would still like a few more lessons so we will definitely be headed back to Hakuba for the Hakuba Snow Sports School. Thanks for giving my kids a great experience guys! Also, if you don’t have your own gear there are at least a couple rental places a short walk from the school. Just give yourself at least 30 minutes prior to your lesson to get everything you need.

Thank you to Hakuba snow sports school for teaching a girl with no balance and having never stepped on any sort of board before gain some confidence and start to be able to snowboard.
I had three instructors over the course of about five days; Drew, Merry and Sam. All of these guys were very patient with me and communicated in a way that I understand what they were trying to teach me and helped me gain the confidence to start to snowboard myself.
Thank you so much guys, if I'm ever back in Japan I will come back for refreshers for sure!

I had my 8-year-old ski for the first time and Aron made her feel welcome and also taught her to ski in a matter of an hour. Aron you are amazing and a wonderful asset to the company. Thank you for teaching my little girl to Ski your an absolute legend. Yohan and Ava ( Ava says Hi to the same guy )

I and my friends will arrived Hakuba on 3rd March, we stay at the resort in Happo One, Is the school in that area? We would like to take full day course for 3 people, level beginner. Can do heel side toe side. Can turn but not S. Only one of Us can do S but not so smooth.

We can do lessons for you on March 3rd, but we operate out of iimori resort not happo. We could do a half day or full day private lesson at happo if you really want to ride on that resort. All our group lessons run from iimori. Best to email me for further communications.

Hi we are staying at zen appartments happone area. How convenient is it for 2 children to get to your ski school from there, never skied before and they need a few lessons. Also one adult needing a morning refresher lesson.

You can get a free shuttle bus to iimori resort, where our base is, from in front of the Century Hotel which is close to you guys.
Ask Mick or Sarah who run Zen chalets how to do this, they are friends of mine who are very helpful for their customers.
