Nothing much here. Just an old house that you are welcome to come into and sit down on a hot or rainy day, and pass a few minutes to contemplate how the average Japanese family used to live.

内子座方向から、銀行の角を曲がると、醸造会社や和蝋燭屋さんなど内子の町並みが始まります。そこで最初に出会うのが町屋資料館です。明治の建物が多い保存地区の中では古い寛政年間に商家を修復したもの。現在から考えると、質素な商いと生活（土間や２階居住スペース）ですが、道路側を開放できる商店らしい造作が良く分かる建物です。
入場無料であり、公衆トイレも整備されているので、休憩所としても利用可能です。

こちらは1793年に建てられたと思われる建物を使い、江戸時代の町家の生活様式を展示しています。入ってすぐは商家ということで商売の部屋が再現されていたり、畳の部屋にはお膳にのせられた茶わんなどが用意されていたりと、当時の生活を感じられる造りになっています。

Close to the start of the "preserved" street of the Yokaichi & Gokoku Area, your attention is initially drawn to this typical example of a traditional townhouse by the large black information board outside. The information board identifies the various 'must-see' former residences of wealthy Uchiko merchants further along the street, but as most of these historic buildings are privately owned residences (e.g.: Omura and Honhaga Residences), they are consequently not open to the public. The Kamihaga Residence (Residence & Japanese Wax Museum) is subject to an admission charge (Y900 for the combi-ticket to the 3-main Uchiko attractions), so visitors should seize the opportunity of visiting this traditional townhouse as entry is free-of-charge!

ここらでちょっと休憩という感じの坂の途中にあります。広く開けた間口に開放感を感じます。町家の様子が知れます。

重伝建の通りに面しており、道からも内部が見えるようになっていますが、せっかくなので中まで入っての見学がおすすめ。（無料です）土間にはかまどもありました。建物を通りぬけた奥にはトイレもあります。
