Beautiful ancient village on Lake Lugano with narrow alleys and a church located in one of the most beautiful panoramic points in Switzerland. There are many restaurants on the lake, even if the menus are all similar to each other. A sad note is the lack of free parking, a constant in Switzerland.

Morcote est l'un des villages carte postale de la Suisse. Situé dans la partie sud du lac de Lugano, très touristique, beaucoup de restaurants au bord du lac. Mais si l'on monte les marches pour aller dans le vieux village, c'est une merveille de petit bourg antique, très bien entretenu avec une superbe vue sur le lac.
Endroit incontournable à visiter. Eviter les week-ends, car c'est la foule des grands jours.

Malerisches kleines Dorf das vom Wasser aus am schönsten aussieht. Also am besten mit dem Schiff anreisen, das allerdings an schönen Tagen auch unter der Woche sehr gut gefüllt sein wird.

Sehr italienisch und hübsch
Auch von der Wasserseite aus äussert attraktiv.
Viele gute Restaurants direkt am See. Unbedingt vorher buchen.
Schöne Kirche oberhalb mit tollem Ausblick. Parco Scherrer ist einen Besuch wert.
Von hier aus kann man eine tolle 4.5 stündige Wanderung nach Monte San Salvatore starten.

Il paese è molto piccolo, e forse per esserci stati il 2 gennaio anche un po’ deserto.

In giro per laghi ,dopo aver visitato il santuario bellissimo, il giro nel borgo antico non si poteva non fare. Un borgo bellissimo fatto da viottoli e scalinate. Da non perdere. I portici sono bellissimi

Pace e serenità sono i sentimenti ispirati da questo piccolo borgo inerpicato su un costone roccioso, con una bella ma un po' ripida passeggiata su un sentiero lastricato, si raggiunge rapidamente quota con panorami meravigliosi sul lago sottostante, una piccola chiesetta alla sommità è il punto di arrivo ma anche il punto di partenza per numerosi sentieri che, lasciato l'abitato portano a diverse mete tutte bellissime.

Borgo Antico is literally the old town of the small town called Morcote, a beautiful town in Lago Lugano, in Ticino region, in Switzerland. It is located in the upper part of the town and the main building is the church of Santa Maria del Sasso. In fact, while you walk around the town close to the lake, you can see the old town. Also it is possible to see very beautiful views of the lake from this part of the town. A nice visit.

Hi I am planning to go to Switzerland for 15 days on Solo trip. I have doing Milan, Interlaken, Zurich, Budapest. I am keen in visiting small towns and beautiful areas. Pl suggest some more places.
