“VEry good pub food and quiet garden”

VEry good pub food and quiet garden

We called in for lunch which we had in their very pleasant garden. All three of us loved our meals. The beer was very good too. A lovely place to stop - will definitely go back again.

Quick pit stop

Popped in for a cold drink after lovely day on the beach, this place is well catered for. Plenty of seating inside and out. Drink choices are pretty good and very reasonably priced. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.

Very rude landlord

We have been here a few times over the years and had good experiences. This year was very disappointing. Staff & service excellent but a shame about the, very rude, landlord. We were just leaving, walking through the bar from the garden with my dog, when she stopped to say hello to another dog who was sitting close by. The landlord was sitting opposite and all but ordered us out. Clearly he was sitting with some of the locals and we were intruding. We won't be back again.

Cosy local Pub

We were staying in the area and had an evening meal here. It was friendly, welcoming and cosy and very much a local pub (wish this was my local!). There was a good selection of food at a reasonable cost - which was good value and very tasty. I thoroughly enjoyed my fish cakes whilst my other half enjoyed a meat pie. When we are next in the area we will not hesitate to return.

Last minute thought to have a roast .

We thought we would ring up to see if they could fit us in for a Sunday. A lovely lady on phone yes .We have been before as usual and the staff are so lovely and friendly its a real pleasure to go there.I had nut roast my husband had lamb roast . Alll lovely fresh veg and tasty . Will definitely go again soon Thankyou

Lovely Saturday Afternoon

We met some friends here, but hadn’t booked.
Staff, in particular Sarah, were very friendly and accommodating, so had no problem with fitting us in.
Pub has a very nice ambiance, roaring fire and a good selection of lagers and ales.
A nice selection to choose from on the food menu. We had 2 Scampi, fish pie and fish cakes. All dishes came out well presented. I had the fish cakes which came with salad and sautéed potatoes which were all very nice, I tried my wife’s fish pie, and must say this was one of the nicest I have tried.
When we are next in the area, we would definitely return.

Lovely welcome, roaring fire; what a characterful pub.
Had a delicious snack lunch and a couple of bevvies. Prawn & crayfish gf sarnie and bbq aubergine sarnie. Awesome, both. Cheers!

Great food, friendly atmosphere

While staying at The old dairy in the village, we visited the pub with friends and our 5 basset hounds. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and the food was delicious ! Very tasty and cooked lovely!
Would definitely recommend this pub for amazing food or just a drink. They were so dog friendly and I wish we had a local pub like this!!

Just lovely !!!

Sunny October Sunday afternoon, sat out with a beer, followed by wine and Sunday roast !
Great service, friendly and lovely staff.
Roast was good, lots of vegetables, thick gravy and sirloin of beef.
We really enjoyed our afternoon

Last minute drop in visit.

Called in for lunch whilst on holiday in the area. Lovely little country pub with very friendly staff. The food was all freshly prepared and delicious. Dog friendly, on leads, inside and out. A real little gem of a place.
