Well what can I say a lovely nature reserve that me and my partner stumbled across one night on our way back from Southend.. I don't think I can write what we got upto but there's was more than just dog walkers about . Thoroughly enjoyed and will be back again

Special little island for estuary birdwatching and peace. An accessible natural sanctuary easy access from Leigh on Sea Station.

Very nice place to go on a sunny day and has a wildlife site for bird watching and good for walks to Hadleigh castle and around two tree island

Absolutely love it here, can easily park, never too crowded, a lovely walk towards Hadleigh Castle where you can stop in the birdwatch and observe the wild life, my grandson thoroughly enjoys.

A review for boat owners and paddleboarders.
Well maintained public slipway. For a boat that needs to go in and come out of the water on a trailer it's accessible about 3 hours before and after high water, maybe a touch more, so a decent window. Paddleboards and kayaks have potentially got a bit longer.
It's pretty flat - actually one of the flattest I've ever seen, reflecting the flatness of the estuary landscape - but this didn't stop us launching and recovering onto a trailer successfully.
There's a really decent-sized unmade carpark at the top of the slipway - so plenty of room to park and unload your van.
The very helpful Foreshore Officer is on site during the day, in a hut at the top of the slipway, controlling access and monitoring safety. It was an eye-watering £40 to launch a boat (I think the paddleboard fee is cheaper) but nonetheless still a great spot.
No toilets. So if you need the loo, stop at the Golf Club cafe coming down the lane and pop in there (and there are hot drinks, cakes, ice cream etc on offer too).
Helpfully, there's a water tap for boat cleaning just off the top of the slipway, but bring your own hosepipe.
Enjoy - five stars.

This wetland and nature reserve has a web of walkways through the wilded areas, paths are largely clear and easy to navigate. It’s a great place to walk the dog and if you get caught in a downpour (as I did) there are a few twitchers hides you can take shelter in. There are signs warning about the presence of adders, but I think you’re unlikely to encounter them.

Visited on Saturday 13th March 2021 Two Tree Island, Leigh on Sea. Accessed via the road next to the station with a free car park at the entrance and another larger free car park at the end of the access road on the shoreline. From this end car park, we circumnavigated the nature reserve which covers the Southend side of the island which is divided by the access road, though there are paths to access the London side of the island it is unclear what these lead to. On the nature reserve side, there are hides for birdwatching but not much else.

I didn't see a single dog waste/litter bin and consequently there is dog poop EVERYWHERE! It just ruins the walk having to always look at the ground.

lots of adders and bugs and grass and flys perfect for bokehs blur and landscape photographers and there is a bird watch sheds as well so you get cosy with old grannys and talk about brexit and covid with a social distancing not sure the sheds are open thou brilliand sunsets can be catched via this place if you bring your camera

Visited two tree island in lockdown for somewhere different to go . We’ve never been here before and it was a Wellcome surprise to both of us how beautiful and tranquil this area is . The quietness was super on a sunny Sunday morning very peaceful. The views were fabulous will definitely be visiting again .

Although I've known Two Tree Island for decades I was never aware it has the tow path mentioned in an April 2017 review nor that there is/was ever a canal there. Where exactly is it?

As far as I am aware (and I have done some research) there is no tow path anywhere on Two Tree Island, nor is there a canal, although barges can be seen making their way up Benfleet creek (the tidal waterway that passes through Two Tree Island on it's way to Benfleet), in order to moor at Benfleet Marina.
