The museum has a lot of interesting exhibits belonging specifically to Goa's past as well as others which many of us would associate with our own childhood.
In my opinion these are a few points which prevent this museum from graduating to a "must-do" from the current "optional visit" -
1. Staff is not educated about most of the exhibits. One ends up never knowing the name or the function of the object.
2. Exhibits are not arranged in proper sections which if done would establish a logical flow for the visitors who currently walk in a random manner around them.
3. Almost all the exhibits are non-operational. This is a major turn-off for those genuinely interested in knowing how they worked originally.

The museum has a quirky collection of gadgets and machines. If only they were curated better and exhibited with better labels about the history/origin, the experience could be much more fulfilling. In its current form, it’s a collection of stuff without any narrative. The visitor is left feeling quite lost trying to make sense of it. For the price, their definitely needs to be more value in the experience.

'Curiosity killed the cat.' That's all I can say. More like a antique scrap shop. Unenthusiastic guide and explanation (i thought she was sleepwalking) Certainly not worth 200rs of my hard earned money.

It has very nice antiques spread out on three floors. Everything from old typewriters to radios and other vintage instruments. The downside is that they dont allow photos to be taken.

San thome museum back in time is a wonderful experience that really takes you to past. I recommend all the youth of this generation come here to visit this place and see the antiques and technology the museum that has to give you. Not only that this museum curator give a wonderful demonstration on a technology that they have in the museum. It's a fun experience and you will enjoy it.

This museum could have been made so much more interesting. Items are crowded together; there isn't sufficient info on each of them; many lack labels, and they do not even have the year of manufacture. Also, the windows are open, so the shelves are really dusty.
It is necessarily a guided tour. The lady who showed us around kept checking her phone half the time. She also needs to ramp up her knowledge and attention to detail on many counts. For example, she kept describing the anchor as weighing 3300 tons when she really meant 3.3 tons -- and she simply could and did not understand the mistake!
I was amused that, after charging an entry fee of Rs. 200 per person, they have a donation box!

this museum is a real experience to back in time. you will be surprised to see old age things instrument typewriter and other items which one cannot find now

We discovered this accidentally while beach-hopping in Varca. What a find!
Would highly recommend a visit to this museum. Our 9 year old daughter also enjoyed this visit thoroughly. Lots of interesting exhibits showing the evolution of technology over the years. All the exhibits have proper information displayed alongside which adds so much to the experience. The entire collection displayed here is the personal collection of one individual. Truly inspiring!

I’ve been at the museum twice and I’ve found it of great interest and I would highly recommend my friends and colleagues to pay a visit and experience the various antics displayed. Once again well done Thomas and keep up the good work!!

My son and I visited this museum during our holiday at Varca, Goa over Christmas 2019. We literally stumbled upon it as we drove by and the 3 ton anchor drew us right in. We were guided by 2 bright girls (one called Apple Star who is the owner's daughter) who made the tour come alive. It was fascinating for my son to know and happy for me that I could relate to several of the collective items over the years. The theme around how the features of a smart phone came to be from typewriters, calculators (fascinated to see a slide rule and remember to use it!!), early spreadsheet versions (yes - there were manual ones.. go see for yourself), cameras, film cameras, tape players and beautiful art work. Would love to visit again and highly recommend that parents take kids there!
