Not exactly on the beaten tourist path, but how can you pass up the opportunity to see Thailand's tallest Buddha statue? The 67-meter tall image towers over the community and requires a wide-angle lens or back up considerably to capture all. The nicest surprise for us was the fabulous wall murals in the main temple... don't miss them. The entryway to the temple was a bit dirty with bird droppings when we were there, but the interior was sparkling and the paintings are well worth a look.

My wife is a serious devotee and she loved this temple. We are from 100km away and she had never been here. The big Buddha statue is the highest in Thailand at 67 meters. The temple is very clean and well cared for compared to some. It's the main city temple and the statue can be seen from all of the central city Calm atmosphere and caves and walking paths nurturing add-on statues and themes.

I could see this tall buddha from the balcony of my hotel room. There are a few other sculptures around but it doesn't take all that long to walk around. I did attempt to walk around the tall buddha but some dogs around the back changed my mind. They were not in a friendly mood. This temple is certainly a must see if your visiting Roi Et.

凄く背の高い金色の仏陀を見られました。もっと晴れていればさらに印象的だったろうと思いました。全体像を写真に収めるのがなかなか大変でした。

I'm not sure if there is a contest for the tallest Buddha, but if there was, this temple could enter their large Buddha. Other than the height, there isn't much else that is impressive.

The Tall Buddha and the temple make attractive photos. There other Buddhist statues on the grounds and a river nearby. A good picnic area. A meditative space.

Was taken there by friends. A lot of walking but very interesting, and well worth the visit. Was not as crowded as temples in Bangkok or heavy tourist areas.

We took a short Tuk-Tuk ride to the temple & large Buddha statue.
The grounds around were fairly well maintained, there was no pestering from people trying to sell us anything, there were cold drinks & snacks available from a small stall but that was all.
The very tall Buddha Statue is impressive & worth the visit to see along with the temple.
We found a very relaxed & calm atmosphere around the temple.

Beautiful temple with a large, standing Buddha image, that can be seen from quite a distance and from many places around town. With 59 metres in height it is the tallest Buddha statue in this particular pose in Thailand. Wat Burapha Phiram is located just a 10 minute stroll from Phalanchai Lake. The temple and especially the Buddha image are illuminated at night.
When I arrived here in the afternoon, it was quite tricky to find a good spot for photos since the sun came out and most of my images I had to take against the bright light. Therefore a…
Photo advice:
Note that all Buddha images and all temple fronts with the main entrances in Thailand are facing east. That means if you want to take a decent photo, with the sun in the back and your desired photo motif “glowing” in the sun light, you have to visit the place early in the morning!
The right moment depends also on the surroundings. If the place is located in Bangkok, it makes no sense to go at sunrise, for the photo motif would still lay in the shadow of the high rise buildings. But in the country side the timing would be different for the obvious reason.
If you have a good camera however, you can also take really good photos against the sunlight. But those photos would have different light and colour effects.
