When leaving the island in the middle of Phalanchai Lake, in exactly western direction, there is a footbridge leading you to the ring road next to the lake. Maintain the same direction when crossing that road and enter Meechokchai Road. After 500 metres you will reach the monument set in the middle of a roundabout.
It features Phra Khattiyawongsa (Thon), the first ruler of this region. King Taksin himself appointed him 1775. Under his control Roi-et town developed and became very prosperous.
