One can have a good time, watching only birds and deers. Do not expect to see tigers at all. However the Guides will always tell you that the tigers were spotted "yesterday", but you wont get to see them. Enjoy the forest and the ride. Actually a waste of time

Stayed at Jhirna FRH for 2 nights in one room with a family of 4 in April'21. This is located some 8 KM+ in from the Dhela gate.
The accommodation is basic , has 2 rooms which can be booked online and another 2 offline reserved for the forest officials.
The 2 rooms have a common area with sofa and charging points. Good for photographers , not so good if you are looking for comfortable stay. Fortunately , unlike Sultan FRH, the rooms have fan .. the bathroom is big. One room is good for 2 pax , can be cramped with more members and luggage.
The attendants are on the job , they provide the food and housekeeping services. The food is available per pax , breakfast - 250 , Lunch - 300 , dinner - 300. Children under 11 - 50%. Driver - 100 each meal.
About the FRH , once you step outside , it's bliss. There are training elephants in the campus, all nicely fenced. A lot of birds right within the campus. The safari experience is amazing , birding is great in the Jhirna range.

I visited Corbett Tiger Reserve with my family and friends and was able to sight the Tiger twice (Bijrani and Dhela zone) along with other varied wildlife animals. We also sighted the herd of elephants with young calfs once in Bijrani zone and other time in Jhirna zone where we also saw a huge tusker (single tusk) leading the herd.
Our bookings as usual was done by TravelGleam Wild (Sourabh Garg- 9958993316 , 9810606750) and their knowledge about Indian wildlife and season sightings update assisted us deciding the zones to visit in CTR.
Thanks team for your insights and helping us creating some memories for life.

This is best national park for tiger, I am so lucky to many tiger.

We were in the north-western part of Corbett Tiger Reserve (Kalagargh Tiger Reserve), which is rather remote and therefore very quiet. We would see only one or two gypsy jeeps. It is a beatiful area, especially for bird lovers. The chances of seeing a tiger are small, although we were very fortunate to see one.
We used the services of Amit n Shipra, a couple who own and run Landsdowne Cafe, but also own an extremely comfortable cottage near the forest, overlooking a river, which had a leopard prowling around at night!
They organised several hikes, safaris, taught us many things, served great food and took great care of us (with little touches such as a hot water bottle during cold winter nights, picknicks in the park).
Great experience~!

I had been to India and Sri Lanka before, so thought I knew what to expect from a tour here. I thought it would be more authentic and less touristy.
How wrong I was.
Booked the usual morning and evening tour, staying for 2 days.
The best thing from the am trip was that we took our indian driver/friend with us who could tell us later what the guide and driver really said. Not pretty.
The worst bit was our 'sunset' trip.
We had to arrive at 3.00pm and were dropped off back at our car 2 hrs later. Well before the sun even looked like setting.
Also, without any friendly commentary which you get used to in a friendly place like India..
Maybe go there, but make sure you get a good guide.

with 225 tigers this is one of the best reserve to see almost all types of wild life moving freely over large area well maintained.it takes more than 3 hours to move in open jeep which is thrilling and exciting.it requires luck to spot tigers.entire reserve is with thick rain forest

We had several safaris entering through differenet gates and each time we had different animals, birds, flora, and scenery. We went very early in the mornings arriving at dawn. We had been told to wear layers of clothing as it would be very cold to begin and then hot by midday and it was. Our evening safaris also began in the warmth and ended in the cool of the evening at dusk. We just cannot describe all the experiences we had, the deer on the riverbed, the hillside jungle,the various monkeys, the wild elephant herd on the plan, the jungle cat on the road. The beautiful birds, eagles and flowers galore. Our guides described what we were seeing, the habitat and breeding of different animals, but we didn't see a tiger. We saw paw marks claw marls droppings and smelt it and heard it, but no sighting just seconds late. Loved it. Some jeeps could so with being mended as foot steps broken and some guides self opinionated. We were always in a jeep solely for us 2 so we could ask questions and hear replies. Really enjoyed the time.

Two options are there. You can book the safari online. Else you can consider a package with your stay. In that case, most of the resorts will do the safari arrangments according to your need. I stayed at Le Reserve Corbett and they made all the safari arrangements for us.

Hi it costed us approx 30 K for 2 adults and a child. From Delhi. Please keep in mind Jungle safari is about Rs. 4500 for one trip for a single jeep.

While not sure about Corbett in particular, but I have seen infants on Safari in other parks. Keep a noiseless baby teether or something handy so that the baby doesn't cry out load or something which could agitate a wild animal.
Can i do the elephant safari if i am not staying in birjani or dhikala zone? If yes, what are the charges.

Actually elephant safaris is not possible out side of forest. You must stay at forest rest house. Booking possible online on Jim Corbett site. They charge per person 150 for ride. In side forest lodge have very nice view and services.

I'm reaching Ramnagar at 8 pm in evening. And have booked my stay at Jhirana FRH. Will I be allowed to travel to rest house by night/ is there any last entry time? How to reach Jhirana FRH from Ramnagar?

No, inside the forest is out of question. Gate closes in the evening. Plan to reach early.
