This temple is very close to the Lonavala town. A very old temple and always empty.. need not worry on time, as it will take less than 5 mins to cover the entire temple..

Bhairavnath Devasthan is situated at a place called Dhak in Rajmachi, near Lonavala. The primary deity of this grand old temple is Shiva in the form of Bhairav. The temple architecture is similar to Shiva temples elsewhere in the Konkan region. The temple is located in the backdrop of naturally thrilling forest regions. The soft breeze and cool ambience provide the premises of the temple a sacred atmosphere. The temple can be approached by a slippery path. It was a very nice and quaint place where you can relax and chill. Nicely maintained with clean surroundings.

We visited this temple as my friend Sidhu request to pay visit here.It was very nice and quaint place where you can relax . He had his prayer and we distributed the prasad and the proceed further.

Bhairavnath Temple is an ancient shrine, situated in a densely forested area near Lonavala. This temple is dedicated to Lord Bhairava, who is an incarnation of Lord Shiva, according to Hindu mythology.
Resembling other Shiva shrines of the Konkan region, it has a simple architecture. Smaller temples of other Hindu deities are present within the compound. Mahashivratri, the main festival related to Lord Shiva, is the time when this temple is frequented by several devotees.
Opening Closing Time
6 am – 7 pm. Open all days

We visited this temple and found that its most calm and peaceful temple I have ever visited after very long time. Place was quite clean and well maintained by local people.

It's small temple and you can skip it if you are come in khandala - lonavala for nature scenic beauty. Not much crowded with tourist as not much popular. Locals come here.

Places of worship generally offer peace and tranquility but some are so quiet that a visit to them provides real peace of mind and soul. Bhairavnath Temple, just in 100 km periphery of the crowded Mumbai, is just one of them. It has a long history and the devout from far off come here to pay their obeisance.
