Valvan dam is a beautiful scenic place to visit when in Lonavala.
Although getting there could be a bit difficult if relying solely on google
Maps, one can have a good time after reaching the place. During monsoon, there is lots of greenery and water in the dam and will make for an even better sight

I went to Valvan Dam. The alluring gardens and beauty that surround the dam add to the value of this prestigious dam, and ensure that the place is crowded with visitors all year round. It is great place to go.

The lake is ofcourse beautiful. You can get the perfect view from upper deck resort. But I don't whether you can actually go near the dam.. I relied on Google maps and found a dead end. Approach road was horrible. You need to be expert in reverse gear to drive back!!

We were 7 family members and read great reviews and decided to visit this place today. Followed google maps for directions. To our horror, nothing exists at this place. Forget dam, it has some accumulated water in a farm. We met 3 more families on way and they all suffered due to poor google maps directions. Does this place exist?

This dam is famous only because people come and click a lots and lots of pic here, This dam works as a power station, this place is surrounded with mountains which are cool, I like the place a lot.
it's on the way so no need map or something to reach here, you can see lots and lots of cars bikes roaming here and there. Visit once if you are living in pune, you will go again.

Valvan Dam is a water barrage that serves as the water source for the Khopoli Power Station, owned by Tata Power. This dam is built across River Kundali, originating from the Western Ghats.
The water impounded by this dam forms a beautiful artificial reservoir, which is named as Valvan Lake after it. A lush green garden is situated next to this lake, where locals as well as tourists gather for picnics. Surrounded with a scenic landscape, Valvan Dam is a perfect place for peace lovers and solace seekers.

Hi! Can anyone tell which road or route to take to reach this place from Lonavala station? The dam appears huge on the map so it would be great if somebody tells where exactly the entrance is. Thanks!
