A great day for us

It is an achievement for us at old age. (81,74) At the bottom many said we won’t be able to do it ,but we took the challenge and enjoyed every moment of it. The day was day before great Sivaji’s birthday. There were many going up with saffron flags.but all were disciplined and not noisy, Many steps ,some were very steep ,which made it interesting. On the top it was flat. The fort changed hands many times ,therefore both temples and Muslim Prayer place on the top. There was also a small reservoir with cold refreshing water. On the top in the temple the people lit a flame ,my wife had the honour to ignite the fire ,we all shouted ,Jai Sivaji . They said all night they would March with this fire lit on poles. It was a great day for us and many. When came down there was cool lassi to quench our thirst.

Worth a visit once!

Great views. Approach roads are ok/good. Once up there, spend a couple of hours. Stair climb involved so not for old people.

its a must visit fort in lonavla..u have to trek a little to get to the top but its worth it..u will love it !!

Historic fort

We visited during the monsoons. The climb up the fort was easier than imagined. Would have helped if there was a local guide to explain and show us more of the fort.

A Good Trek with Family , Scenic , be careful for road via Bhaja Cave to Lohad

A must watch place with kids. Good trek with family. A lot of scenic view and cool breeze till the main door of the Fort. After that steps are not in good condition. Amazing view of Pawana Dam and all other area. A worth trip.

Be careful if you driving from Karla to Bhaja cave to Lohgad .
Its Steep Zigzag road hence all the new driver please do not attempt to drive unless you have skilled driver right next to you. Its only one car drive hence try to go via alternate route (Dudhiware khind)

Comparatively road from Dudhiware khind road to Lohad and back to Lonavala or Pune is comparative good and has less steep zigzag uphill curves. Its comparatively two vehicle passing road. And only problem is that road condition not good

Short, sweet, yet a dazzling trek

This is a lovely trek. Short and easy - the real fun happens when you reach the top and see the beautiful stretch to vinchu kaata or the quieter other side. You can see pawna lake, valwan lake. If you are lucky and have great weather by your side, you can be sure the sights will take your breath away. Sure, it is a bit crowded cos this is an easy trek - but you can still find your space.

Beginners Trek

Trek till top of the fort is not allowed in covid times ... but still this is good hike specially for kids. Panoramic view from top is breath taking..

Must visit for all because of Historical Importance , Easy trekking, Good view from Top

A good fort near Lonawala

When we were in Lonawala we visited this place. One can reach the base of the fort and then take steps to reach the top. It takes about 30 mins to climb and one can spend about another 30 mins at the top. There is an entry ticket of Rs.25/- and a few eateries shop at the gate. Surprising the toilets are missing in the periphery and is a real challenge for the tourists. The steps are well maintained and the climb is easier compared to other forts where the path is raw and trekking is involved. On the top, there is a pond and a temple as well as Samadhi. The best part of the climb is i- it provides splendid views of the area - especially the Pawna lake and the surrounding fields. There are unused cannon on the path.
