From "Bhushi Dam" it was a long treacherous 7 kms uphill drive past the iconic "I.N.S Shivaji" and a few pothole roads to "SHOOTING POINT".Encountered thick fog which made driving conditions next to impossible for a two-wheeler.Visibility was reduced to barely 25 meters and adding to the visibility danger was a few potholes on the narrow mountain highway. Finally at 1100 hrs in dense fog was at "SHOOTING POINT" in Khandala . The intensity of the fog can be imagined through this photograph reminding me of the "Hound of the Baskerviles" setting although this was not Dartmoor in England but "Monsoon Lonavala" barely 90 kms from concrete jungle Mumbai.On a bright day this locale offers a view of the Rajmachi fort and the flowering valley below.Numerous films have been shot in this locale and hence its name "SHOOTING POINT". But today i could barely see 100 meters away and felt i was on a film shooting set of my favorite detective novel , "Hound of the Baskervilles" !

Had visited this point in Khandala a long back ago. This point is visited by local and tourists from other parts of the country.
This point offers breathtaking views of the river valley and aerial view of the Rajmachi Fort. This place comes alive during the monsoon season with waterfalls in the background. As the name suggests, many Bollywood movies were shot here. One can visit the St. Mary's Villa located close by which was earlier British era barracks and now a public property run by the Jesuit priests. Avoid going during the summer season.
This point is ideal for families, couples as well as friends while in Khandala. It is a must visit place and should be missed.

The shooting is very much popular among tourists for a nice aerial view of Rajmachi Fort. It is a great place to experience natural beauty also.

I went to Shooting Point. A view point, by the name of Shooting Point is frequented by tourists wishing to catch an aerial view of the Rajmachi Fort and the valley below. Located in the town of Khandala (Bazaar Peth), the site is also home to St. Mary's Villa. It is great place to go.

What? Where? These were the obvious questions when the guide brought us to this point in the scorching afternoon sun! It is as good or as bad as any other point on any hilly road.

OMG! The view here was spectacular. Very close to Lion's point, a sort of stranded area with a good view of the mountain and the valley. On a hot summer day, there is a lady by the roadside who can make you a wonderful lemon juice water with bisleri water (for all those mineral water drinking folks).

Ich weiß nicht, warum hier manche Bewertungen von einem Hotel sprechen. Hierbei handelt es sich um einen Aussichtspunkt, von dem aus man einen schönen Blick auf die Hügel von Lonavala hat.
Man kann den Shooting Point in 5 Minuten zu Fuß vom Lions Point erreichen (dort sind auch Parkplätze). Hier gibt es neben einer tollen Aussicht auch Snacks und Getränke.

is this point still available for site seeing. I'm told it's been taken over for development and is closed to tourist . I'm asking this Caz der are still some reviews recently posted .

nope no worries at all...feel free to watch nature...and yes do no cross the boundary... otherwise you may fall down and never come back
