Pleasingly amazed on the breathtaking view from the sublime point. Many thanks for the kindness and perfect guidance to our tour guide Kris during the jeep trip yesterday 😊 We had a beautiful time.

We took the guided tour by jeep. Don't do anything. One stop with explanations. The 2nd is just a vantage point for taking photos and picking up employees who complete their shift. Probably worth the kick. It would have been better to call it a guided tour. We explained our point of view to management who find their approach normal

Nous sommes désolés d’apprendre que votre expérience ne vous a pas entièrement satisfait. Lors de votre visite, notre chauffeur-guide vous a pris en charge avec les autres participants. Il vous a proposé une visite guidée du musée, comme vous l'aviez déjà fait, vous êtes montés en jeep pour commencer la visite.
Au premier arrêt, vous avez eu une visite guidée de la passerelle avant de continuer en jeep vers le point de vue. Pendant le trajet, le guide s’arrête pour observer les oiseaux endémiques, les tortues ou tout autre élément intéressant de la réserve. Au point de vue, il y a une explication de la vue panoramique et une interaction avec le guide. Selon notre chauffeur-guide, vous avez apprécié votre visite.
En tant que réserve naturelle, nous faisons tout notre possible pour réduire notre empreinte carbone, notamment en limitant les excursions en 4x4 à seulement quatre par jour. Lors de la dernière visite, nous profitons du trajet retour pour récupérer notre employé basé au point de vue, si la place dans la jeep le permet, afin d'éviter de déplacer un autre véhicule.

If you want to hike in the beautiful nature of Mauritius between 1 and 4 hours is the right place. Different tours of different difficulty levels are possible alone, guided or with jeep. Whether as a family with children or as an experienced hiker - there is something for everyone.
We did the longest tour to D on the map and hiked on the trails. Beautiful views (also of LeMorne) and almost alone! Upon entry, the reservation is preserved. The associated museum is also pretty and informative. Of the 14 giant turtles we saw 4; ) Definite recommendation!

I had an amazing experience. I am very impressed with everything. Such a unique experience. Our tour guide Avish and Tivanesh are very knowledgeable and very professional. Tivanesh made our visit very special. The staff at the reception were very polite and helpful. Planting a tree was a unique experience. All the amazing views. Well worth visiting

Unfortunately we arrived after 4pm and so we're only able to do the 30minute guided tour of the nursery and near forest. It was excellent and we even got to see the Mauritian kestrel.
I would definitely advise getting there early and doing the hike. Unfortunately for us one of the roads was closed so it added 1.5hours to the journey! Remember it always takes longer than you think on Mauritian roads! If you want to go make it your priority and go there first - you wont regret it.

Ebony Forest was beautiful ! We did our own mini hike on the Kestrel trail without a guide . It was easy to follow and very beautiful with great views . We saw fruit bats in nature environment and some tortoises . On site of Chamarel 7 coloured earth but not connected . Highly recommend

Great hike up to Piton du Canot via sublime point. It does get steep near the end and might be muddy if it had rained a lot but not particularly difficult if you’re of moderate fitness and mobility. View were great, would recommend going up via the forest path as the road isn’t as scenic. Saw 4 of the turtles that roam around the place. Staff in the shop via the parking, which you need to get a ticket from, are also very friendly and helpful.

Beautiful and easy walk through the forest partially guided. Brigesh was our guide. He was really very good : he provided very interesting insights and showed us plants and animals we would not have seen without him. The view at the end of the walk is amazing.

You can also pay the entrance fee and go for your own. Me and my husband did that. Was awesome! You should bring trekking/hiking shoes and water depending on how far you want to walk. If you don‘t want to hike the trails anymore you can take the „road“.

Hello, you can reach Chamarel through Public transport, however from the Seven coloured earth gate, it's 3.5km to our reserve. You do not have any bus on this road.

Hello,
I would like very much to visit the reserve but I have a bad back. I am concerned that travelling in a jeep maybe too much for me if the route is particularly bumpy. As I also have weak joints I could only manage a small climb.
How physically able do you have to be for this trip? Are the roads really bumpy? Are the climbs steep?

Hi the road is very steep, a hard climb. It is a tar road so not too bumpy but you have to hold on tight as you will be shaken about. Steps at the beginning, steps during the tree walk, and a walk at the top.

Hello, Our forest restoration project is a long term project started in 2006 by Mr & Mrs Griffiths, our aim is to restore the native forest over the 50 Ha of the reserve, so far it is 14 Ha that have been restored. By restoring the forest, we have to keep the biodiversity present in the pristine forest of Mauritius. Hence we have been re-introducing the endemic birds of Mauritius namely the Pink pigeon and the Echo parakeet during the past year and the project is still in process. This project takes a really long time and this is why we opened to the public to make them aware of the importance of preserving our native forest, learn more about it and get the funding to continue the restoration work. We are open everyday to the public.

The ticket includes a jeep tour and a guide for the initial and more flora-rich part of the tour. Then it is self-discovery for the rest of the park. I think it is a good formula.
Non-resident ticket price is about 12/6 Euros per adult / child (3-12 years).

Hello, you can still use the jeeps for the kids, which is included in our ticket price. Our raised walkways are accessible even if not equipped with hiking gears.
