Una excelente opción para visitar cuando caminas por Barichara, la fundación muestra el trabajo con papel artesanal elaborado a partir del fique.
Sus instalaciones son muy bonitas y las personas que trabajan allí se esmeran en la atención de los visitantes; el precio de entrada por persona es de 2.000 o 4.000 pesos de acuerdo con el tipo de visita.
Vale la pena visitarla y no se toma mas de una hora el recorrido.

We enjoyed the process eventhough is very simple it was well explained by the tour guide and the shop at the end was very nice. Bougth some papers, decorations. Worth comming

Bello trabajo hecho por madres cabeza de familia, el lugar es muy bonito, limpio y cuidado, te explican el proceso manual de fabricación de papel a partir de fibras vegetales, puedes comprar sus trabajos en su tienda. Me encantó

The operation was fully functional when I visited. A guide was offered but I toured without one. It is very interesting to see firsthand the process they use. Each room is open and you can view comfortably. There is also a garden in the back that is well kept and maintained.

Op 17 februari een bezoek gebracht aan Fundacion San Lorenzo De Barichara die projecten doet om mensen aan het werk te houden. Wij bezochten het papierfabriekje in Barichara gerund door alleenstaande moeders. In het fabriekje wordt in een proces wat 4 maanden duurt ambachtelijk papier gemaakt fique , een natuurlijke vezel die groeit in de bladeren van de Andes-fique plant en ananasbladeren. In de bijbehorende tuin vindt je de Andes-fique plant en de ananas-plant. In een souvenirs-winkeltje kun je briefpapier en papierproducten kopen. Leuk om door de fabriek te lopen en alle planten te zien.

Te enseñan todo el proceso para hacer papel a base de fique y otras fibras naturales. Es muy artesanal. Puedes participar y hacer papel tú también. Tiene un jardín con varias plantas, muy agradable de recorrer. Además, apoyas la fundación y el trabajo de varios locales. Completamente recomendado. Puedes complementar con el recorrido en ecofibras en Curiti, donde te muestran cómo hacen individuales, bolsos y tapetes con esas mismas fibras.

This is a must see on Barichara. Brave women working their craft, the highest quality paper ever. In this place you can see the whole process and how these women turn natural fibers into paper. They also design and make paper jewelry, note books and many other things. They are organized in a Not for Profit Foundation that also works with children from the Barichara region to teach them skills on paper making among other. Great work, high social impact and environmentally efficient methods. Not to miss.

Whilst wandering around the town we called into this place to see how paper is made. We had a demonstration on the whole process. Quite interesting. An opportunity at the end to purchase products.
