We went to Cape Arkona by pumice train. Playground available and also food stands and souvenirs.
Parking always 8 €, quite fierce.

Wonderful views and great lighthouses. You can take a short hike from the lighthouses to the beach.
Unfortunately totally overpriced. Parking 8 euros. Ride on the small pummel train (because my wife is injured and not good on foot) 6 euros each for about 1.5 kilometers. Tower climb for me 3 euros.
And all this for the certainly imposing sight of the two towers which can also be viewed for free.
Recommendation is to park in the village beforehand free of charge and to hike or do the rest by bike.

An absolute Touri rip-off hotspot deluxe. Pure mass tourism, but without any added value. Food joints line up. The walk to the Cape is not sooo far at 2.5 km, but it seems like a hell of a march. Glowing asphalt, as if you were in the capital and every ass minute the Binmelbahn almost runs over you. If not, then residents or anything. The sea is virtually not visible and it is just exhausting and corrosive. There are so many beautiful places on Rügen but this one is definitely not one of them. Too bad I didn't read into this before. Then we would have the 8€! Parking fees and our precious holiday time saved.

By now a pretty terrible place. I've rarely seen a place so brutally commercialized. You either get ripped off by a parking lot far in front of Cape Arkona and then have to continue on the pummel train or you walk through a collection of shops, Vacation rentals and other tourist rip-offs through the whole town downright squares. I experienced this in the 1990s. What a difference. Unfortunately, clearly for the worse ! Not again!

Our trip to Cape Arkona was rather unsatisfactory. 3 kilometers before the actual destination, you will be shown last parking. Then you can choose between a pummel train, horse-drawn carriage, bus or running. Only running costs nothing. On the cape itself there are two lighthouses and plenty of food joints, all of which just want your best, namely your money. At the end of the day you find out completely sweaty and finished that you have not even seen the Baltic Sea water ! My Recommendation, look at pictures on the internet of the Cape and go where it is really nice.

According to all guidebooks a place you must have seen here on Rügen.....and the proof that virtually all guidebooks, more or less unchecked, write off from each other...
......my opinion....you don't have to see it....
my personal impression.....
....first of all, this place generates a lot of traffic thanks to its exposed location.....
then you end up between huge agricultural areas, these charmless, in a large parking lot in front of Putgarten.
Operator of the car park seems to be a motorcycle fan, because they park for free.
Cars for a pretty hefty 8€!!!!
( In passing, here on Rügen are demanded practically everywhere and usually relatively high parking fees. Only so.....for example at Grand Canyon Southrim you pay zero parking fee!!! )
You then have the choice of walking from the “luxury car park” or taking one of the less original tracks or by horse-drawn carriage to Cape Arkona. Sure, only walking is free.
The way through the small picturesque Putgarten is nice. Then you walk about 1.5 km on a dull, straight and shadeless slope between large fields to the lighthouses. Always trying not to get caught by the fast moving train.
Once there you can climb the bigger lighthouse, 3€. I skipped it thanks to this weather. From the sea you can see if you don't climb the tower...nothing. For this you have to walk about 10 minutes to the point Gellort. There the first view of the water.
But with Königstuhl or some other wonderful places here on Rügen, rather unspectacular. One way leads down.
The former way to the water directly at the lighthouses seems to have been broken for years and probably to remain so.
Afterwards, you can also take a break in various restaurants on the area of the lighthouses. Or buy a souvenir.
A few discarded buoys seek the attention of visitors.
All in all, I wonder how to praise and tout this place so highly.
The time required by Sellin, for example, leads a visit to the absurd.
Just on the way there, a visit to the Naturerbe Zentrum Rügen or the endlessly long great beach from Glowe to Juliusruh is worth so much more.
The last few years we have not been able to make a visit here at Cape Arkona, that was now a good thing in the retrospective.

Northern tip of Rügen. Two lighthouses and a guard tower, You stand on top of the chalk cliffs but because of the steepness that is not clearly visible. Lots of tourist shops and a train.

I've been here before in 1992. At that time you could still drive by car directly to the lighthouse and park. Today tourists are intercepted about 3 km from the sight and forced to park in a completely overpriced parking lot. Eight euros is really cheeky. Then you can choose whether you want to walk the three kilometers to the Cape, or spend a lot of money on the pummel railway again. I then decided to forgo the pleasure. This is really pure rip-off!! This could have been made more tourist-friendly in the last 30 years. Save yourself that and take a look at other sights. There are enough of them on Rügen.

Parking cost 8 euros for 90 minutes. An outrageous price. We spent 12 euros on the train for 2 people and 3 euros per person for the lighthouse. We didn't need to use the toilets. So nothing was included in the parking price.

A lovely day trip destination. There is a lot to see in a great landscape. I don't understand why the app with the tickets is for and why you are given tickets (marine bunker) that are then punched.
Just after midday everything was a bit crowded. It is better to visit lighthouses, etc. from 3pm onwards.
