Great rental place with supportive, friendly staff. A nice alternative to TWS if you prefer it a bit more relaxed and less commercial. Prices are excellent for the quality of the equipment but the choice can be limited so make sure you book in advance or arrive early in the day. Showers available inside. Perfect location right on the beach. They also do courses.

Yo no tuve una buena experiencia con este establecimiento. Los encargados fueron muy poco flexibles con sus condiciones y muy poco simpáticos conmigo. Personalmente me parecieron como el club mistral: les interesa cobrar (por adelantado) y no les interesa nada la experiencia o la satisfacción del cliente, un poco como aquellos restaurantes malos para los turistas. Mi consejo: evitar bahia y alquilar en uno de los muchos otros sitios que están en la misma playa, a poco metros de distancia

My brother and I had travelled to tenerife with one thing in mind... surfing! We were recommended this particular sports centre by our hostel who saId the its was the locals favourite.
We were greeted by really helpful, enthusiastic guys, who got us our surfboards and wetsuits immediately. They gave us a great rate for the boards, I think one of the best I have seen and also some tips about the waves and the area. They also held our boards while we grabbed some lunch.
10/10 cannot complain, will be using again for sure!

What a find the day before returning home. Parked by Hotel Playa Tenerife Sur and went round corner to beach. Hired loungers - 3.50 euros each and swam in sea. Hired SUP for 8 euros. What a bargain compared with Puerto Colon.
Friendly surf dude knocked 2 euros off as last SUP and only children's paddle. No problem for me as my 3 kids spent over an hour climbing on and jumping off board.
Walked to El Medano town for lunch. Plenty of restaurants on the way.
Wonderful. Made my holiday.

Spent 7 day windsurfing at el medano tenerife
All the guys at at Bahia really helpful

Just back from El Medano and had 2 windsurfing sessions with Bahia. Andrea was my instructor who was great. The wind died down on the second day so I used the board all afternoon to practise. It cost €100 for 3hr tuition divided over 2days. Location was good, overall very satisfactory experience.

Alquilé un kite para un día y me dieron todo tipo de recomendaciones.
Por si fuera poco no tenía transporte para ir a la playa de la Tejita y el propietario de Bahía me llevó él mismo en su coche.

I walked down the strip of kitsurfing shops and found it's hard to choose from the different schools , some say 'oh we are the most expensive as we are the best, others 'we have radios' , 'we have a boat', 'we get into the water to body drag with you',' we have the latest kit' . The offerings are standard - 3 hours on the beach with the kite, 3 hours body surfing without the board, 3 hours getting used to the boardThe reviews don't help much as many people say 'oh this place is the best' which is annoying as if they don't name the instructor and haven't tried the rest so how do they know?
Bahia was the cheapest, their equipment was good - half wet suit, helmet, harness, bouyancy aid, board and kite. My instructor was friendly and competent. They have good changing facilities. They were friendly and relaxed.
My view is as a beginner it does't make much difference which school you go with - it depends on the match of you and the instructor you get.
The windsurfing beach is crowded .If I had my time again I woujld be attracted to anyone offering a boat as there would be more time learning and less time waiting in line for there being a space. I think it helps if the instructor will get into the water with you for body surfing
Tip - get a pair of wrap around sunglasses with strap and rubber seal . I got mind from Bahia shop in the square o . You definitely need sunglasses that are strapped to you head. The wind isn't the best in September so allow for none wind days.
