Great holiday resort. Lovely beaches. Loads of restaurants, bars, cafes. Lots of souvenir shops, supermarkets to shop in. We stayed in a villa just outside Olhos de Agua, and an 9 minute drive got you into the main resort. Albufaira is only a short drive away. New Town, Old Town or The Marina

We stayed in Albuferia but a short walk took us to Praia dos Olhos de Agua.
A beautiful beach but gets very busy with little space to sit. The sea is very sea weedy which put me off going in sadly.
Get there early if you want a spec. Also if the sun loungers have a red tag hanging from the shelter it means they have been pre booked as we found out the hard way.

Upon arrival at the beach our family was delighted with the view of the beach and the breeze that came from the ocean. Next to it is a cliff and further away we can see the town of Quarteira. The sand strip was very clean and the children loved to enter the sea and return pushed by the waves, which in the day and time were quite calm.

Our first visit to Olhos De Agua and I was so disappointed. Only our wonderful hotel, Porto Bay Falesia made our holiday. Restaurants and cafes are scattered throughout a dingy grubby urbanisation. The beach is small and has a cluster of unappealing establishments. Staff seem to lack the personality and friendliness we have encountered in other resorts. On our first night we ventured down to find it practically deserted and poorly lit. There is a stepped walkway up to a viewing area where the longer, picturesque Falesia beach can be seen. Apart from this particular beach there is no scenic walk as there would be in Alvor or Carvoeiro. There is little in the way of flowers or pleasant vegetation. If one had a car the area would probably be a convenient base for other resorts in the Algarve.

The beach where I usually go is on the other side of the rocks (Praia do Barranco das Belharucas) but this beach is also interesting. Access is much better and the beach is smaller. Outside of high season it's cool but in summer it gets really crowded. The water eyes themselves are worth seeing.

Visit, enjoyable for children and the whole family, relaxing and peaceful environment.
We played and enjoyed the landscape, it was sunny. The beach is magnificent for resting, 30 minutes from our house,

Its not a must see in the Algarve, but we were staying nearby so stopped by.
There's a square and small promenade by the sea with a handful of places to eat. The immediate beachside area is the most attractive - things get less appealing at the resort as you head up the road away from the beach.
The beach itself is nice, calmer water than nearby Falesia. There was a bit of a collection of stagnant, murky water that seemed to come from a discharge pipe though, so watch for that.
At the eastern end of the beachside promenade there is a viewpoint over town which is nice, you can also see smaller unspolit coves as well as Falesia beach the other way, which you can reach via walking paths.

Freshwater springs in this rocky area between Olhos de Água beach and Barranco das Belharucas beach. They are very funny and you can try the water and see that, in fact, it is not salty (we recommend the water eyes that come out of the rocks as in others you drink with sand!). They are not difficult to find but it always has to be at low tide. It's really worth it!

Great beach at Olhos de Agua. Pay attention to ebb and flow. There is hardly any beach available at high tide. At low tide you can see the olhos de agua, the eyes of the water. Fresh water springs visible on the beach. Quiet town with nice restaurants

Pleasant bay with beach and food and drink options. Minimarket and souvenir shops. Looks neat and cozy.

It would be a challenge to access the beach in a wheelchair. The hill down to the beach is very steep and the pavement is uneven.

There weren’t when I went in November but I believe there are earlier in the season. Lot of hotels and restaurants were shut in November.
There’s a bar on beach which unfortunately was shut.
If you walk along cliff top there’s benches. I used one of these to lie in the sun. Nicer views up there. Nice place to watch the sun set too.

Yes there are shops selling the usual beach stuff just up from the beach, we bought bucket and spade for the little one.

Bring one just in case as this is only an aparthotwl and pool is outside from hotel

Bus runs approx every 40 minutes to Albufeira on Mon-Fri.Saturday and Sundays are much less frequent.
Bus also runs in opposite directions you can visit Vilamora or Faro.Watch out though as bus service ends very early between 6-7 Pm.Never wait for the last bus.Fare to Albufeira is approx 2.20 one way.Taxi back is approx 10 euro during the day and 2 euromore at night

The boat trips and fishing trips I have done over the years I used to leave from Vilamoura harbour. Now though more recently from the new Albufeira harbour which is closer from Olhos da agua. The agents you book from will tell you which harbour. Hope this helps.

Wij gaan eind oktober naar Olhos d,agua Algarve Gardens ,is daar ook voor ouderen naar en langs het strand goed te lopen ?

É uma praia pequena mas muito bonita, a qualquer hora do dia ou da noite.
Tem apenas 2 acessos, um com uma grande escadaria que desce do miradouro até à praia e outro em que os carros circulam até cerca de 200 m da praia mas os estacionamentos ficam a cerca de 600 m e não são muitos para a procura.
Tem vários bons restaurantes junto à praia. No ‘Caixote’ prove a sopa de peixe - Nunca encontrei melhor!
Tenham uma boa viagem e óptima estadia.

We have noticed the police patrolling the beach this year on a couple of occasions we have never seen this before on past visits does anyone know why ?
