Really disappointed with the booking process. Booked in advance but unfortunately on arrival additional charges were added on under the guise of public holiday (although thos was known at times of booking). We were then made to take additional caddies.
The charges are far from transparent and additional rules and charges for tourists.
Female Shower facilities were not in good condition and only one small towel permitted per person, unfortunate if you wanted to wash your hair!
Greens were in good condition unlike the rest of the course which is in need of some maintenance.

Had a good game at the course, they keep it in pretty good condition considering the weather. Carts are in need of a little TLC, but the green fees are very reasonable and our caddy was a bonus.

Rated 4 stars?? How many years ago were that be?
Visitor green fee expensive, WHY? Because is the one and only golf course in Penang Island side.
BUT, golf course not well maintain.. 1) fairway 30% no grass. 2) tee box - no grass and hilly surface. 3) sand bunker - very hard. Don’t injure yourself… 4) green - multiple grasses, holes, sand..
of course, we shouldn’t look for professional standard course. But I think with price we paid, at least should get a standard level golf course.
When visit to Penang for golf, highly recommended Penang Golf Resort at Bertam and Bukit Jawi Golf at Jawi.

Autentic Chinese Dinner serving for its famous butter salted egg yolk sotong, Ikan bilis with sausages, ladies fingers, Penang Hokkien Mee Style that is simply delicious and awesome and Keuy Teow Cantonese Fried Style Yummy and deliciously made, of course not forgetting Crispy Penang Lobaks, 😋😋😋

The golf course is memorable with its extremely tight fairways. The index 1 (think it was hole 3) looked like a speck to aim at but overall, the course was reasonably well-maintained with fast greens and raked bunkers. The clubhouse does not look great and is showing its age. The caddie lost one of our club head covers and was unable to find it. Just to note, he spoke little English so communication with him was sparse and isolated to the key questions around distance, directions, etc.

I was there for the first time around noon hitting some balls at the driving range. The balls were quite worn off. The club house and related facilities were quite run down but the food I tried at the restaurant were not bad.
The 8 lane Olympic size pool was a pleasant surprise and the 18 hole Golf course looks alright from afar.

Have been looking at golf course webpages for years, across countries, this club's webpage information is the worst I’ve come across.
The club web page has no information on golfing rate, club renting fee, for instance, course maintenance hour restriction, club events whereby club will close to public nor intro to its local rules. Enquiry tab on web page does not work too when I tried to send in enquiry – got an error code ! Alas, her Facebook appears to be full of restaurants information. Do call to check in especially when you plan to play on weekend, when most events take place.
I heard that caddy at times demand RM50-RM100 tip, on top of caddy charge. Caddy is a compulsory take for guest player.
How sad for a course that dates back with a supposedly elegant history.
Fairways and greens conditions are pretty this time around. (April-May 2019).
Registration Office is out of main club house - who knows why for a golf club - while lockers and showers rooms are at the club house. Buggy somehow is taken away after you've cleaned up. Hence, be prepared to be drenched in sweat again while you walked back to collect your car near the Registration Office. Guess, golfing there is not in their prime interest anymore ?

I have played the Penang Golf Club course as a visitor on several occasions. Each time when I am on holiday and each time playing on my own. Green fees over 300RM including buggy and compulsory caddy, 159 RM to hire clubs and 50 RM tip for the caddy (advised) make it an expensive morning out. It feels very much like a club taking advantage of it being the only one on Penang Island.
The course itself is very enjoyable and challenging. Hills, good green condition, excellent layout make it worth while to visit and I will no doubt visit when next here. However, the excessive cost does stick in my throat.

息子と2サムでラウンドしました。キャディさんはとても親切でした。コースはアップダウンやドッグレッグ多くフェアウエイも狭くキャディさん無しでは無理かなと感じました。ゴルフ場には日本人がいて安心でした。料金は高いかな・・・
