Just had another stunning meal at Andrea's in majorda. Authentic food at proper prices. Been coming here for 8 years from when they first started. Family only run. Service is impeccable, nothing too much for them. Produce bought locally every day. Can't get any fresher . Only six tables best to book. Many repeat customers. Decent coffee which is hard to find on Goa . Also clean and modern toilets

Tuesday 5th March and we were back here again, and we walked across this beach, which we previously did in November 2023.
On this occasion It was good to see that there were beach shacks on the beach. Back in November there were two makeshift shacks doing their best to operate as result of the debacle of the licences being issued.
This popular beach, with it's golden sand, is situated along the coast between Utorda and to Gonsua Beaches.
For many reasons, the main one being the lack of tourist numbers, but there were only two shacks on the beach. The two old stalwarts, Mish Mar and Cameron, erected their shacks which they have done for twenty plus years.
Melban Water Sports were also on the beach, providing a number of activities including parachute rides.
The main access to the Beach is by the steps at the end Marjorda Beach Road, by Leo's Corner Cafe/Bar. From there a makeshift rustic bridge spans the river at the back of beach, the width and length of river depend on the sea levels and high tides.
The Shack owners have put strips of course matting on the sand, so that guests can easily walk to their shacks.
As we walked along the beaches we did get glimpses of the crumbling Majorda Beach Resort Hotel.
We also encountered a number of beach sellers, whom we have known for many years of coming to Goa. We had more of a friendly chat than any sales patter on their part.
For some reason, the river continued to make it's way across the beach to the sea, it normally disappears for a while and returns at regular intervals. As result Mish Mar has constructed a bridge from the shack to the sunbeds and umbrellas on the beach on the other side of the river.

Majorda beach is most peaceful beach I have been to beach was clean and very less crowded going to beach after 5 pm will be a good experience if you are looking for peaceful family vacation this is indeed best part of South Goa don't go by rumours that South Goa is not happening it is certainly a happening and less crowded that what family vacation means nearby majorda beach is family restaurant with live music Pentagon surely you will like going to Pentagon Restaurant after the beach all types of food is available hire a self driven vehicle at affordable price and have a good quality time spent with your family.

Fabulous peaceful beach. Great beach shack and a great place to watch the sunset.

It was a lovely place to go and watch the sunrise on a morning and listen to the waves crashing on the shore barefoot with your feet in the sand.
The beach is a vast long strip, and yes there are dogs but they aren’t a problem too busy racing around chasing each other. The only problem for me was entering the beach as sadly there was a lot of rubbish

We walked along this is a popular stretch of beach on the southern Goan coast. It is situated between Utorda and Gonsua beaches.
The first occasion we visited here was on the 20th November when we walked from Utorda across this beach on to neighbouring Gonsua Beach. At other times we walked from Gonsua to see how things were progressing here, the building of the beach shacks.
It is usually buzzing with holidaymakers and busy beach shacks. However, when we first arrived there were no shacks on the beach. This was due to the delay in sorting out the triennial lottery and the ensuing bureaucracy, for the Beach Shack licences this year.
Two shacks had sunbeds, umbrellas and shade providing pergolas on the beach. One operated from a field kitchen on private land, while the other brought food to the beach from it's nearby restaurant. There was one shack open on private land, Aqurian, had sunbeds on the beach.
Access to the Beach, from Leo's Corner, was across a rustic makeshift bridge across the river which had swollen as result of moonson raise and spring tides. This river stretched along the beach in front of the Shacks and dissecting the beach and occasionaly flooding shacks. A couple of small makeshift bridges were erected to enable visitors and shack staff access the sunbeds.
Coming towards the end of our holiday Two old stalwarts Mish Mar and Cameron Beach Shacks were up and running. However there was a distinct lack of tourists.
From certain parts of the beach it was possible to get glimpses of the once grand Majorda Beach Hotel, which is now closed and becoming derelict.
There was a rather depleted water sports centre on the beach.
A new addition on the beach this season were Mish Mar's luxury accommodation huts.

We were here in September, right on the beach, whole day we would find the beach empty except a few people early morning and in the evening. The whole beach became like a private beach. The beach is a little off the main road, probably thats the reason its not crowded. There are good accommodation and eating joints around. A typical south goa experience.

It’s a silent beach not too much crowded neat and clean very good beach it’s near the ALILA diwa hotel we had a sunset here it was very good experience

Hi Salil. I am travelling to Goa and would reach at night around 6 pm and my fiance would reach around PM. I plan to arrange a self driven vehicle by then and stay at a close hotel to airport with some beach to relax till 12 or 1. Can you recommend me some safe beach for that time?

Thereby is a shower and a toilet cubicle at Vanias. Same at Amish Mar I believe.

July is during the monsoon season, the the sea tends to be rough and rather unsafe. There are no Beach Shacks or water sports, there is nothing on the beach. The tourist season begins in October and ends April/May.
Not sure where you are staying, but there are some late night bars in Colva, there is also the Gastro Bar in Majorda.

Hi there,
Alex Place Beach Shack is not open in August. There are no shacks on the Beach. The season runs from early October to early May. Everything shuts down during the monsoon season. Hope this helps

Never been aware of being bitten by sand flies in my 22 visits to GOa the last 6yrs in Majorda, watch out for the red ants if they get on you and bite you will know, but if you are idiot enough to stand in a line of them whilst chatting (me) you can expect to get bitten eh?

im thinking of spending 11 nights in majorda arriving boxing day, is there enough for 11 nights and is it nice, we are a nice quiet meal and a couple of drinks kind of people

Hi , There is plenty to do drinks and restaurants wise , Majorda supports approx. 4 major hotels , plus all the small boutique type. This year currently there are 5 beach shacks in Majorda , and Betal Batim , and Utoorda either side adding another 8 shacks , all serving food and drinks throughout the day and night , transport to majorda beach is easy and it has big car park 20 m from the sand. If you need more info we are staying all year.
