Authentic materiel but also there are from local artisans which are very very costly and you can avoid like the toys. Go in for stools and other cloths. Do not forget to take a stroll at the garden and sit at the iron chair and enjoy the beauty.

Visited here today and their selection of naturally dyed stoles, scarfs and blankets were amazing.
There were also hand knitted beanie hats and some very nice jewellery.
Well worth a visit.

The Himalayan Weavers is a "MUST" to visit. Not just because of its flawless location but also for the quality goods they produce. Beautiful visual merchandising and a perfect pretty little house have added more than 5 stars to this place in my list. The wonderful organic production of garments and their perfect pastel shades would not let you go back empty handed. And of course Mr. Alam adds to the charm of this place.

I took an auto from the railway station and went to this place which is around 12-15Km. It is worth going and the feel of wool products sold is completely different.A very friendly shop owner and sales team. Its (NATURAL) -> wool, dye and hand made.Nice place for gifting and had a good time

I first went to the Dehradun shop to have a quick look round. I had been sent by a friend and spent a lot of time apreciating the high quality of the woollen , silk or cotton stoles, shawls and throws, shown to me by Patricia and Alam. Their whole project in an interesting and valuable one, starting with the natural dying process, using an eco-friendly method developped by Alam through to the handwoven stage. In addition, there are the many benefits to the artisans community as a whole, such as medical care and educationnal grants.
Since my visit, we have started working together and I've asked them to produce a collection for my brand based on my designs.
I can highly recommend a visit to one or both of their shops in Dehradun and Mussoori : you will find it difficult to resist leaving the shop without buying one of their handmade items !

I am so glad I had the chance to visit this lovely little shop. The throws and shawls I bought have brought me much pleasure. I love the softness and quality of the wool and pashmina and the lovely ec friendly colours used in the dying. I am happy to think that Himalayan Weavers encourages the development of local skillls and crafts.

A small shop in the Rajpur village of Dehradun that sells scarves, stoles, shawls and some local handicrafts and organically grown agriculture produce. Patricia and Dr. Ghayur Alam are passionate about promoting environmentally friendly products from the Himalayas. Their beautiful scarves, stoles and shawls are made by hand by local villagers using fair trade pashmina and eco-friendly eri silk and only natural dyes. I have bought several of their stoles as gifts for friends around the world and they have been universally appreciated. A must visit and the place to buy pashmina products!

While in Rajpur / Mussoorie its a must to visit the HIMALAYAN WEAVERS to pick up unique and charming handwoven woolen shawls dyed in natural dyes. Alamand Pat who run this unit are passionate about natural fibers as wool and silk and dyes them using natural dyes. Its rare in India where 'woolens' are usually of synthetic yarns. They work with local tribals who weave the shawls for them .

Over a number of years in India, I have bought many items from HW and have always been delighted with the quality of the work. Just about everyone in my extended family has a scarf, shawl or blanket. My Edinburgh student son wears his herringbone blanket while studying .....and during the night time fire alarms! I also appreciate their use of natural dyes and the fact that they operate on a fair trade basis.....so everyone benefits.
