Visite incroyable d'un endroit merveilleux. Encore une fois la permaculture se révèle une méthode stupéfiante et pourtant si évidente. Une place pour chaque chose et chaque chose à sa place, dans un grand système équilibré. Déambulation au cœur d'un garde manger vivant, dégustation de feuilles au goût de noisette ou d'ail au passage et tout cela sous les explications bienveillantes d'humains passionnés et passionnants. Bienvenue dans la solution.

Nous avons fait un magnifique voyage de plus de trois semaines au Costa Rica à l'aventure sans aucune réservation , nous sommes tombés par hasard dans ce petit coin de paradis . Ken l'hôte est super accueillant , il est passionné par ce qu'il fait , son mode de vie et tout l'environnement qu'il a créé pour vivre là-bas est impressionnant de recherche et de travail ! C'est une chambre d'hôte simple mais magique par sa nature , nous y sommes resté une semaine au final car nous y étions trop bien ! Un lieu de zenitude parfait et pour tous les gens soucieux de leur impact sur l'environnement c'est idéal !!!

Ubicado en medio de la naturaleza en la provincia, a mi parecer, más linda de Costa Rica. Es un agradable lugar. Nosotros pasamos cerca en bici pero también hacen tours.

Thanks Ian for the farm tour of your food forest. You all have done a amazing job and look forward to taking some classes later. This farm an practices are what more people need to do, definitely a must see.

We had about this unique farm in a magazine and just had to make the 15 minute drive from Puerto Viejo up the unpaved road to this beautiful example of permaculture. Being the foodie and gardener that I am, I wanted to see how food is grown in the tropics and was completely blown away by what I saw. I went up hoping to just walk around and check it out, but ran into the founder Ian and he proceeded to give me an amazing tour. Normally tours are Friday at 2pm, but Ian gave me a tour anyways even though he was busy at work. I really appreciated his time and enthusiasm for permaculture, I can't think of a better person to run the farm or a nicer individual to talk about it with. I couldn't even begin to describe all the things I saw, you'll just have to go check out all the unique plants for yourself! If you're at all into gardening or agriculture you HAVE to go to Finca Tierra! I definitely will be back for one of their farm stays.

Ian took us on a tour around their farm and told us a lot about permaculture and this was our first experience with it. We both loved the tour, it was so interesting to hear about their farming, seeing all the different plants and try a lot of new fruits (we loved the mini cucumber!) that we never got to try back in Germany, because you just can not buy them anywhere. Also Ian has a really nice way to explain everything, we could have listened him hours!
Ana and Ian are so lovely, they both tell you all you want to know.
We will definetly read more about permaculture and try to plant more in our garden back in Germany.
Being at the farm and experience their way to work and live was one of the best things we did on our trip through all central america, so if you're around Puerto Viejo and you're interested in nature you should definetly go there!

I visited finca Tierra during a natural building workshop I was participating in. Not only are their buildings beautiful and their landscape spectacular, their practices at the farm are really commendable. Though I knew a good bit about permaculture before the tour I definitely learned some things that will be very important to me later on in life!

This is a fulfilling short afternoon jaunt a 10 minute drive up into the jungle. It's also a great way to get off that one main road through Puerto and up into some of the Costa Rican nature. The more I learn about permaculture and what it is, the more it boggles me how *smart* the approach is and the creativity of the people attempting this path. Ana & Ian have put a ton of effort toward building and implementing numerous systems that mimic nature on their way to understanding what a truly sustainable life can look like; food forests, low maintenance food production systems that replicate nature like cultivating certain fruit trees, medicinal plants, edible greens,…if it has a use, it stays. They're both great teachers & hosts, fun, apt at explaining the systems and projects in place around their land. The place is beautiful. The bamboo buildings are attractive and well-thought out. They are a young, intelligent, knowledgeable, and driven couple with a worthy vision. Their vision of living with nature is a highlight for a trip.

This tour is an experience that should not be missed! Very interesting, informative and educational but also its an opportunity to see something different in Costa Rica, plants and animals and a perfect example of sustainable farming and living off the grid but still having everything you need!
