We stayed at Villa Miela, expertly hosted by Tobi and Adel. We took our children aged 11 and 15 and shared the beautiful villa with 2 other wonderful families while we had never met before. This is the first adventure holiday for us and we just wished we had done it years ago. We had the best of times, seeing places we would never have been able to do alone. Kayaking, caving, trekking, cycling, swimming in waterfall, and all of this was well away from the tourist trail. Tobi and Adel have a very relaxed approach and everyone felt involved. The two volunteers , Sam and Will were amazing too. Beers, wine, guitar, great food. Get booked!

We had an amazing family holiday with Ana , Nikola & the walker family.
We have struggled to find holidays for an active young family who are not so keen on just the beach and active Montenegro were perfect. Lots of adventure & variety, everything taken care of including driving, food (LOADS of it) accommodation and activities. The only down side for us was having to say goodbye to “Auntie Ana” and a new group of friends at the end of the week…get ready for tears!! We hope to do another holiday with this company in future who cover more countries than just Montenegro (We would be very keen to visit Slovenia & the Dolomites Ben if you fancy creating new tours!!)

We have had a great week with Ana and Nikola from Undiscovered Montenegro, I can’t recommend them highly enough. So much local knowledge - history, geography, politics, food and…..more food! Support and encouragement for the adventurous activities and even rejigging our itinerary when we had two sick children that didn’t want to miss out.

We had a wonderful holiday in Montenegro. Everything was perfect, from the activities to the food, to the amazing tour guides Vera and Nikola. All of the activities including rafting, kayaking, canyoning and boat trips were fantastic. We would highly recommend climbing the Via Ferrata. It was challenging but something not to be missed. We could not have wished for a better holiday, thank you to everyone. One of the best trips we have had.

Our first family activity holiday in Montenegro in July 2024 was wonderful and memorable. Well organised activities for the week, highly experienced and knowledgeable guides with activities every day which any family could do and great to keep children engaged and excited. We traveled across beautiful Montenegro with a breathtaking scenery of lakes, lush green fields and tree covered mountains. Plenty to satisfy curiosity of intellectual visitors as well. During our stay, we learned about the history of the country from our guides by visiting the historical site of the old town Virpazar that the Montenegrin government is currently restoring. We traveled with another family who we met first time but we enjoyed doing activities together while my son loved having a friend with the youngest boy of the wonderful family. Our guides Ana and Nikola were absolutely fab. Thank you very much for all your efforts to make this holiday unforgettable. Highly recommend the Undiscovered Montenegro to any family who is active, curious and up for an interesting summer adventure. Five stars.

We have just returned from a fantastic week in Montenegro. We stayed in 3 locations with different activities every day which any family could do, great to keep teens interacting.
Our 2 guides drove us, told us all about the history and life in Montenegro, they shopped, cooked, booked our meals and activities and more. We travelled with one other family who we didn’t know but we enjoyed linking up with them and having a friend for our youngest.
This is a great value holiday including all meals and activities like white water rafting, canyoning, kayaking and lots of swimming. We enjoyed the cooler temperatures before spending a final few days in hotter Croatia where we just relaxed. It has been such a treat having all the organising done for us and Ben and Ana were happy to help with questions before we even arrived. 5 stars

We are a group of 11 friends who all share a love of the mountains. We booked a private 5 day trek covering Montenegro and Albania and it was just an amazing experience. Our first stop was a little primitive and the food very basic, but the welcome we got from our host just couldn't be faulted. Every stop after that, the accommodation got better and better and the food got more and more delicious and was served in gigantic portions, We all expected to maybe lose a little weight with the kms we were putting in, but that was never going to happen with all the food we were putting away!!
Our first guide was Dino and the night before we set off from our first point I think he was a little concerned about the volume of beer being consumed. However when we were all there bright and early for the start of the first leg I think he realised we were an OK bunch who knew what they were doing and we in turn loved him. For a guy so young he was very knowledgeable and he was always anxious to make sure we all stayed together throughout the dangerous sections of the routes. Pavi was our second guide for the Albanian leg of the trek and he was equally knowledgeable. Not only that, everyone in Albania seemed to know him and kept sending him drinks (raki) across. He was kind enough to share this raki with those in the group who had the bottle to drink it!!! At breakfas too!
All in all we had a fabulous time on our trek and I for one was diappointed when it was over and we had to descend to the coast for the 4 days R&R which we'd tagged on to the end of our holiday. I'd have preferred another 2 or 3 days trekking!! Cant recommend them enough. Great communication throughout as well, via the Whatsapp group chat which they set up

The most secluded, unspoilt, beautiful part of Montenegro. Villa Miela is a wonderful, comfortable place to stay with Tobi and Adel who are the most amazing hosts and do everything they can to make your stay perfect. The pool has the best view overlooking the valley. There is a shaded deck area for keeping cool when you want to relax and read or do yoga. The treks are incredible, you don’t see anyone else. We had the whole of Lake Skadar to ourselves on our kayaking day apart from all the Pelicans, herons, cormorants and egrets we saw. The hikes were just the right distance interspersed with swimming in secluded pools, waterfalls and rivers. The wildlife is fabulous we saw horseshoe bats, toads, snakes, tortoises and frogs. I recommend the breakfast box for the first day. It is delicious, plentiful and essential as no shops are open on Sunday. I also recommend bringing food to eat for lunch on Sunday if you don’t want to walk into town to the restaurants.

Great active holiday for grown-up family (children 25 plus partner, 20 & 18 with special needs). Hosts Toby and Adele were relaxed and flexible, adopting their schedule to best suit us, ensuring everyone was included. We were suitably exhausted at the end of each day's adventure. Highlights being the local toad hunt each night, exploring behind a waterfall and kayaking among pelicans.

Maps of National Park routes are available from the Virpazar Tourist Information Centre. We do not offer the Walnut Valley hike unguided, sorry!

Hi Jessie - we offer many different hikes at the lake, all of them guided as the markers are not very clear. Maps can be found at the tourist information centre.

It's a pitty we didn't get any response on our enquiries for several (wrote 2 emails, called 10 times,...) days... we really wanted to do the kajaktour... in the end we did the monastiries tour on our own. It was just great. To anyone who feels as lost as we did: just grab a car, do the monasteries cruise along the road and take a boat from murici for 15 euros to see one of the monasteries. We had a great guide in sasha and the nouns were lovely.
