We were enchanted by the lovely Mercia Marina and loved walking along the shops there. Though many are quite expensive we found something we liked as a novel Christmas present as we knew we might not find it elsewhere. We thought there might be more shops. We tried The BoardWalk for lunch but they told us since we were two we had to sit in an area where there were high stools. We could see many other tables that were free that accommodated chairs and they could see I was elderly and would not be able to sit on high stools. We were disappointed. We walked on to the Willow Tree Tearooms where we found a friendly atmosphere. Although it was a bit noisy (of course, so many people there) we found a nice table at the back with an open window and we settle down to a lovely lunch. Their menu was varied and had very reasonable prices. All in all a very nice day!

Have visited a few times, disappointed this time, the furniture shop had gone to be replaced by a beauticians, next door an estate agents. People visiting don't want these sort of places. Plus food choice was a bit limited and we ended up eating elsewhere. Shame, as I used to like the marina.

As someone with dog phobia, looking for places in nature that state dogs must be on leads, this seemed ideal. Until I actually went, dog off a lead so I couldn't go in the sensory garden, went to the chandlers and there they were again. Most people went along with it, but it's not enforced to have dogs on leads.
I shall be doing reviews this year due to dog nervousness and safety, to see if places enforce leads.
Apart from that, it's pretty, it's small, not big shops but what is there is cute.
Free parking is a huge draw, there's benches to sit on while watching boats and the waters. Lovely boardwalk, artwork, stylish little shops, but I will not be keen to go along due to the loose dogs. Which is a shame, after all, they advertise it as such.
I'll keep looking for dogs on leads places but recommended to those who don't mind loose dogs.

Decent place to spend a morning or afternoon,you’d be pushing it to spend a day.There are some decent shops ,nice cafes,a few nice walks and plenty of car parking.There are river trips available by narrow boat for a reasonable price.All in all a pleasant afternoon.

Overall, a nice place to visit with friends for tea and cake. Dog friendly. Beware the clothes shop White Fin does not refund, only exchanges for a credit note. Most inconvenient if you don't live nearby.

Great place to visit alone, with family, with friends. Some great shops and small cafes. The marina itself is a 60-90 min trip, but there’s plenty of walking trails and pubs around if you want to make more of it. would highly recommend!

Pleasant hour or so walking around the Marina, it never seems that busy which is ideal for me, then time for a drink/bite to eat.

We really love this place, on this occasion we sat inside and had ice cream and drinks. What a wonderful place to take in the air and relax watching the boats. Definitely a taste of paradise. See you again soon.

I so love coming here, so very different atmosphere
Always something new to see, the individually owned shops are amazing, great places to sit outside either to drink or deine

Couldn’t believe how big this place was and they’re extending it. Great independent shops. Lovely cafe. Nice to sit and watch the boats. Some lovely walks. It’s great.

Hi, I was just wondering if the marina area is dog friendly? I'm not wanting to go in the shops but just wanted to make sure we can look around at the boats etc with my dog. Also are there good walks from the marina for my pooch while we are there?

Yes, it is dog friendly. When we went we took one of our dogs and there was no bother. There are also signposted walks of different lengths available. Enjoy

Yes I would say the marina is wheelchair friendly and there are disabled toilets. All the pathways would be wide enough for a wheelchair and there is a large boardwalk in front of the shops. Parking is on the flat although I think some of it is blocked off at the moment whilst they are developing part of the site.
