Amazing wooden sculptures to see of Neptune and the Green Man with birds and animals. Shops to view and cafe and restaurant for refreshments. Interesting to see all the narrow boats moored up.

We had a great experience and nice food on the Long boat cafe moored at the marina and very reasonably priced.

Easy parking available, shops to wander around and restaurants for a drink/bite to eat or just wander around the many paths looking at the boats.

Bank Holiday Saturday 27th August 2022, My husband and I decided to go out for the day to Mercia Marina at Willington in Derbyshire.
This was our fifth visit here. The day was bright with a little cloud but warm and sunny, and when the sun came out the boats on the marina looked wonderful with the sun shining on the water.
My husband and I wanted to look round the really nice boutique shops which are situated around the marina. We went to visit one of the lovely shops called ‘Zing’. Zing is a really nice shop with nice things to buy. We then strolled along the boardwalk and looked at the various shops including ‘Blue Water’ a designer boutique.
My husband and I went to ‘Horticulture’ a very nice plant shop where we purchased an aspidistra to go with the others we have in our home.
After mooching around the shops and walking round the marina, we were now in need of a late lunch. We tried various places to go for a meal but they were all fully booked due to it being a Bank Holiday, so we drove back home and did ourselves a nice meal in the evening with a bottle of red wine.

I first came here a few years ago when I was working in the area. We had a bar snack and a couple of pints and really enjoyed it, so I’d always wanted to come back in my own time and have a proper look around.
We found a table, just off the boardwalk, and ordered a couple of drinks. Whilst we looked at the menu.
Lots of choice and some items a little off the beaten track, but some staples on there as well.
My wife ordered the steak and mushroom sandwich with Fries, I ordered the Lamb, Mint & Harissa flatbread.
Both meals were delivered warm, and both were really well presented, and tasted great. The drinks were also good value.
We both finished everything put in front of us, but couldn’t have eaten more, really decent portions for the price.
The environment is great, lots f people walking to and from the shops, cafes and restaurants, nice walks around the perimeter of the Marina, really good afternoon out and would definitely recommend.
We will definitely come again if in the area.

We live so close but have never visited here, I’m sorry we didn’t go years ago it’s lovely, so tranquil and picturesque. Love it will definitely go again.

Hired a boat for tow one hour trips. To celebrate my mother's 80th birthday, what an amazing time we all had. Tho the weather wasn't great, its didn't spoil our trip.

Great day out, free parking is a bonus. Lots of little shops and restaurants and bars here to mooch around with a glorious view of the canal boats. We did a great walk with our babies which was lovely. Sun was shining! We also ate at The Beetroot Tree which was fab. We will definitely return as we like the look of the Indian restaurant Lotus.

Just watched Four in a bed and I just want to say how good you carried yourselves and although you made yourselves last on the show, to me your first and want to stop with yourselves when everything opens up. Good for you for being bigger than all that. 👍

Hi, I was just wondering if the marina area is dog friendly? I'm not wanting to go in the shops but just wanted to make sure we can look around at the boats etc with my dog. Also are there good walks from the marina for my pooch while we are there?

Yes, it is dog friendly. When we went we took one of our dogs and there was no bother. There are also signposted walks of different lengths available. Enjoy

Yes I would say the marina is wheelchair friendly and there are disabled toilets. All the pathways would be wide enough for a wheelchair and there is a large boardwalk in front of the shops. Parking is on the flat although I think some of it is blocked off at the moment whilst they are developing part of the site.
