Having just completed a 9 day NVC canoe journey, learning to love going with the flow was the theme of the retreat. Dealing with all that mother nature had in store for us, I applaud the grace and flow with which Laura and the JOIN team handled all the daily and even hourly changes to our schedule. With a wealth of experience evident, Laura never compromised our safety, and was constantly providing guidance before, during and after the rapids to help reduce any fears.

The 9-day compassionate communication trip in January was way above and beyond my expectation. The communication work was a perfect compliment to the canoeing and camping and the creation of a small and very special community. The highly skilled and thoughtful leadership team comprised of four incredible women, ensured that the group came together with great joy and harmony. I felt completely safe on the river in the hands of the experienced and super-capable guides Laura and Tegen. It's hard to explain the breadth and depth of this unique journey but it was a total refresh for the soul, mind and body, and I came away with so much extra knowledge, communication strategies, and a big smile on my face.
Did I mention the fun ? I haven't laughed that much since 2019.
HIGHLY recommended.

I joined 9 days trip of Compassionate Communication Canoe journey. I literally enjoyed every minute of the trip. It was filled with so much laughter, connections, tears, self-discovery, challenges and of course adventures! I had the time of my life and everyone looked like they did too – thanks for the supportive and safe environment (physically, emotionally, mentally and beyond) the facilitators created.
More practical side, I had zero experience in canoeing but felt really comfortable as Laura and Tegan were so attentive and supportive. The leadership team was beyond amazing on this aspect too!
I came back from the trip feeling whole and a little bit more in love with life. Oh,,,,and did I tell you the food was so good and wholesome. My dietary needs (as a vegan and as a person who eat a LOT) were fully met. Thank you again JOIN for this beautiful life-changing 10 days!

One of the best trips of my life. I learnt so much and had so much fun. Thanks to the four amazingly beautiful leaders who have put a lot of time and thoughts into this event.
Food was delicious and evironmentally souced. I love the fact all gourmet meals were cooked on the fire. It required a good team work and a good way of deepening the connections.
Although the water level was quite high. I felt safe. The white water guides are experienced and experts in what they do. I learnt a lot about how to keep a group safe, the communication style, rescuing techniques, and making good judgments on the environment.
The content and the structure of Compassionate communication (non-violence communication) were excellent. Kate is an excellent facilitator and teacher. We got plenty of practice. Such an important style of communication and I am grateful for all the guidance by all the leaders and participants.
It was a treat having a support dog. I love having dogs on trips.

7 day Hiking trip hosted by Laura Ingrid and Gemma from JOIN. Outstanding - from the easy to very hard hikes they found us to do, constantly chatting and banter amongst the group (of all ages), modifying our days to suit everyone when needed, thinking on their feet constantly, and supplying our amazing meals - usually on the go, meeting us somewhere remotely and then whipping up an awesome meal. Cannot recommend them more highly - great team - thank Girls

Laura and her crew were creative, patient, and supportive leaders of a very challenging group. They went over and above to ensure everyone's wildly different needs were met, provided excellent food, and were thoughtful about their choices and the impact they were making on the environment. I would recommend JOIN to anyone

Watching the sun go down over tranquil, mirror-like water only to turn around and see the huge, orange glow of the moon rise behind us was such a magical experience.
The girls from JOIN were so welcoming and accommodating and seemed to have thought of everything from cushions on the canoe seats to delicious, hearty, winter treats from the local area, to being serenaded as the moon rose to the lanterns which lit our way as we paddled back under moonlight.
This was such a lovely and romantic experience that went further than your average tour. Will definitely be back!

I went on the "full moon paddle" with JOIN and what an incredible experience it was. Canoeing through a beautiful area, delicious locally sourced food, amazing guides & a real passion for connecting people to nature & themselves. Seeing the full moon shin across the water was so special.
A must do experience when in Cabarita Beach!

Me and my girlfriend went for a paddle with the JOIN crew for her birthday and we both loved the experience. Not only a stunning place to see but the whole experience was incredible, the girls have done a great job preparing the activities to go far beyond a normal adventure and becoming a very deep and personal journey too.

I was treated to a sunset canoe trip on the Cabarita canals.
It was the most wonderful experience. The JOIN staff were very friendly and demonstrated how to paddle and steer the stable canoes.
We headed off at about 4.30 pm after a short briefing. Each canoe had a beautiful woven basket picnic hamper filled with locally sourced produce. As the sun set we turned on solar lanterns in our canoes that lit our way along the canals.
It was a wonderful tranquil way of stepping out of our busy lives and re-engaging with nature and appreciating the simple beauty of watching the sunset.
The setting was very romantic and tranquil and a unique way of exploring Cabarita. I’d highly recommend it.

Our mission with the candlelit canoe trip is to allow people to escape from the hustle and bustle, even just for an hour, and immerse in the beauty of the natural world. So glad to hear you experienced this feeling of freedom.

Great to hear you are coming to Cabarita.
We aren't currently hiring out boats at the moment, and our next guided full moon trip is on Jan 10th, which I understand isn't within your trip dates.
Other operators hire out kayaks at nearby Hastings Point, Pottsville and Kingscliff, maybe they would be a nice option?
