The last we visited Mandore Garden was in 2015. 7years later in Feb 22 we visited again and the place surprised us. It looks lot better and maintained than before. The authorities have developed a lake, sunset viewpoint, entertainment park, canteen facility and lot more inside the premises. The place doesn't look like a neglected heap of ruins anymore. The improvement is remarkable. For the uninitiated, Mandore Garden is a cluster of cenotaphs or chhatris built as a homage to the rulers of Marwar/Jodhpur. The intricate carvings and architecture are breathtaking. The surroundings add to the beauty of the place which was once shabby and dirty.

7 km from jodhpur city. Mandore gardens starts from the 6th century. At that time Mandore was under the rule of Pratiharas of Mandavyapura.
In 1427 Mandore under the rule of Rao Rinmal Rathore who is also the administrator of the kingdom of Mewar until 1438. The Mewar ruler Rana Khumba overtook the throne of Mandore by, the Rao Rinmal. In 1453, Mandore underwent the rule of Rao Jodha, he demolish mandore and built Jodhpur. Several temple type structure of ruler of Mehrangarh.
This place also known as Ravan's house of law means Raven's wife from here.

The temples themselves are quite nice but very badly maintained with garbage everywhere in the garden. The fort is also extremely disappointing. It used to be a ruin which they have tried to build up again. This results in boring inauthentic walls with piles of garbage in between. The entire thing is then still inhabited by monkeys which luckily were not very interested in us. The entire place has the potential to be good but is in dire need of maintenance. In the current state save your time and enjoy Jodhpur some more - the drive out isn’t worth it.

Before Jodhpur was found by RAO Jodha , the capital of the state was Mandore . You can see the ruins of the fort and the palace before 1469 AD from the Mandore Garden ihas been maintained by successive Maharajas , who came to pay respects to their elders who were cremated there. The temple and Chhatris are weary well maintained even today and are must see for any visitors . This was Royal cremation ground for Kings like Jaswant Thada . The carving on stones is awesome and deserves admiration. Governor Amolak Rattan Kohli

The number of films shot here
Garden is Historic importance.
You can see multiple Temples here.
Garden is very Big. Try to cover all part of the garden.
One Hanuman Temple is also in the Garden.
One Fort at the end of the garden is fantastic and the View from that fort is very nice
Beware of Langoors. .

They should call it "mandore Jain temple". You go there for the nices Jain temples, quite impressive. Don't go there if you expect to see a garden with flowers ! India don't keep their garden in good condition... I recommand you to pass a quiet hour there after noisy Jodhpur.

There are many temples in this city.This is a native place Rani mandodari wife of raavan.upside down Mahal also. And at the hilltop chamunda maa temple.some of the film shooting points also attraction of this city.

A faire, seul pour se ressourcer au calme, en couple pour le côté romantique du site surtout au soleil couchant, ou en famille. Les enfants apprécieront particulièrement le contact avec les singes totalement inoffensifs, et qui adorent amuser la galerie.

Very good place to admire royal cenotaphs. Excellent architecture. Good place to come with family and enjoy picnic. But take care of yourself and your belongings from monkeys and bulls.

Cénotaphes dans une compositition paysagère extraordinaires . Encore peu fréquenté et à l'écart des circuits touristiques habituels. Le site mériterait d'être inscrit au Patrimoine mondial de l'UNESCO !
