Beautiful tour accompanied by a passionate and exciting guide. From birth to death one travels all his life and all his work.I advise the visit especially to families.their young people will necessarily after this visit discover more about itterature and the naturalist current of the 19th century

Célia's support was nothing short of exceptional. Her attentiveness and professionalism made our experience truly memorable. The beauty of the house and its garden is beyond words, and it was a dream come true to visit such a magical place. We feel incredibly fortunate to have had this opportunity and hope we can return later this year before any potential closure. This is our 3rd visit and each time our guide was different. A guide, Martine Leblond Zola then Philippe Oriol the new Director of the museum. So we had the chance to discover many aspects of the place but also the life of the writer without ever losing interest during each visit. Perfect duration. Both the house and the garden are carefully maintained. The Dreyfus museum brings together many aspects of the case and will make you want to dive back in...

Very interesting tour and museum. You can take a tour of Emile Zola's house, but it's a timed entry tour w/guide and you should reserve it in advance (normally at 1100, 1500 and 1600 - depending on the season). There's also a small two story museum about the Dreyfus Affair and Zola's superhuman efforts to free Alfred Dreyfus. Exhibits and tour are all in French, so plan accordingly - you might be able to arrange a special tour in English if so needed. The house is three stories and you'll take some narrow stairs in portions - so no strollers or people with walking issues. Don't bring kids under 12, they'll be bored and could ruin the tour for others.
The museum is free entry (with admission fee) and you can take your time. Excellent timelines and presentation of facts and background from the Dreyfus Affair.
It's about a 45 minute drive or so from Paris to the northwest. Also accessible via train/bus. There's a small park with free parking barely 100 meters from the house/museum. Bathrooms available on site.

A pleasant place, of civic health, with its Dreyfus museum, the equivalent of the Camp des Milles in Aix en Provence, in addition to a literary pilgrimage: the duty of memory is also included here.
From Paris, if you are staying there on foot, take the train on line J at Saint Lazare station, get off at Vilennes sur Seine and walk for around twenty minutes along this opulent suburb, until you reach rue Ronsard and his outdoor photos of the Medzn of yesteryear and the villages of Zola himself, before returning to his house.
Very friendly staff and quality guided tour, well-stocked counter with various books, catalog to match.
All that is missing is a tea room area, which should be fitted out without distorting the place where Madame Zola received her guests so well!!

Nous avons appris plein de choses sur la vie d’Émile Zola, et la découverte de cette maison, était instructive. L’accompagnateur a su nous captivé par des anecdotes sur ce lieu de vie dans lequel Émile Zola et sa femme Alexandrine ont passé plus de 20 ans. Les différentes pièces sont chargées d'histoire et empreintes de nostalgie de cet écrivain parois controversé à son époque !
