A great point to see the start of the Condamine River (longest Australian river) and start of the Murray darling basin. Great Divide views!

Absolutely beautiful countryside. Breathtaking. The bnb and cafe are closed. For sale sign up. We had a great day.

Driving from Boonah we chose to go on a round trip to "Falls drive" of which Carr's Outlook was part of. The view is spectacular from up there. There is a lovely cafe right next to the lookout which serves a mean coffee. Tip ... if you want to stop there for lunch try and prebook a table. The place is called Spring Creek Mountain Cafe and Cottages

Nice for a stop over and relish the valley view. We did not get a chance to visit the cafe adjoining the lookout, but heard its a good place.

Carr's Lookout is located on Spring Creek Road on the Queensland side of the state border between Killarney and Boonah, the road is sealed but narrow; caution at all times. From the lookout there are great views over the countryside and towards Main Range National Park. The lookout was named after the engineer and former shire chairman as recognition for his involvement in the pegging out and opening up of a section of Spring Creek Road. There is a purpose built wooden platform at the lookout, accessible by all, with information boards explaining the sight and detailing the geography in the distance. The views from the platform are well worth a short stop, there's even a wooden park bench to sit and enjoy the environment. There is a small amount of parking a short walk away from the lookout.

Right next to Spring Creek Cafe and Mountain Cottages, Carr’s Lookout forms part of the Falls Drive, which also takes you past Queen Mary Falls, Brown’s Falls and Dagg’s Falls. The views are majestic and a sign board tells the history of a 1955 plane crash on Mt Superbus, the wreckage of which is still there. The Condamine River head waters are also visible, which runs on into the Murray-Darling river system.

Carr's Lookout can be found along The Falls Drive from Killarney and if heading east, it's the icing on the cake after visiting the 3 falls.

The lookout itself is a very easy, short flat boardwalk access from a very limited parking area, and the valley to mountain views are as good as they get.

The road from the east is mostly narrow, steep, paved, perhaps one & a half lanes wide requiring caution with a few blind corners, and signed to suggest busses trucks and caravans are not recommended. Good advice.

That being said, the whole road section provides some memorable driving or motorbike riding, with numerous outlooks & photo opportunities from the elevated area.

A country cafe is adjacent the lookout & down a driveway. Seems to offer "country" hours so could be hit or miss.

Truly one to seek out for a Sunday drive or ride.
