One of the beautiful traditional temple architectures in pathanamthitta district. The only temple having daily play of kathakali, a traditional temple art form of kerala.

A huge temple complex with an ancient temple dedicated to Lord Maha Vishnu. No major rush on weekdays. Surprisingly, I was not allowed to shoot any photos in the temple premises. No temple sanctum sanctorum can be photographed but here the temple premises itself was out of bounds.

Sree Vallabha Temple, located in Thiruvalla, Pathanamthitta district, is one the famous Lord Vishnu temples in Kerala. It's learnt that Lord Vishnu's idol in this temple is very rare. Kathakali is one of the major offerings in this temple. Devotees offering Kathakali as a Vazhipadu to the major deity for various wishes.

One among 13 Malainattu Divya desam. Here when we visited (14th Feb 2016), annual festival started. Here kathakali arangetram is performed and is really nice to see. There are elephants in the temple and kids will enjoy. typical kerala style temple and rituals followed. No shirts / baniyans for male. Mundu (Dothi only) permitted for men. Saree / traditional attire for women.

No entry for foreigners to main temple territory. In temple complex available 3 elephants.

The temple is located in Thiruvalla, Kerala.
It is 70th of the 108 Divya Desam of Lord Mahavishnu. The main deity is Sreevallabhan and Chakarathazhvar is on the back of the main deity. A small but beautiful temple.
Temple Timings:
04:00 to 11:30 and 17:00 to 20:00 Hrs.

I visited this temple last week. I was staying in Changanasserry so i planned to visit all the divya desam temples in and around changanasserry and chengannur. I started early in the morning and my first stop was this temple.
This temple is located on the Kavumbagum moolapuram road. The place can also be reached from Thiruvalla by taking a bus to Kavumbagum junction and take an auto from there to the temple
The main deity is Sree vallabhan or Kolapiran and the goddess is Selva Thirukozhunthu Nachiyar. the alwars has sung about the place and the lord in the pasurams as well.
The sanctum has been constructed in such a way that one cannot see the feet of the Lord Sree Vallabhan or Thiru Vazhmarban. This place is also called as ‘Vallabha Kshetram’. The other Thiru Vazhmarban temple in Malai Naatu Divya Desam is in Thiruvan Parisaram.
The 50- feet high kodimaram or flag post is made of stone and a statue of Garuda, vehicle of Lord Vishnu, stands atop. Thirumangai Azhvaar, who has not sung praises of the Malai Naatu Divya Desam Lords, has sung 10 pasuram on the Lord Vallbha peruman. Every Saturday morning, special poojas are held at this temple whcih is similar Thiruvanparisaram.
Childless couples who offer prayers at this temple are said to be blessed with children. Tt is a tradition to organise Kathakali to invoke the blessings of Lord Vallabhan. Another tradition is that the Lord is presented with 12000 ripe bananas, half of which is distributed to the devotees.
