安平是台湾最早开发的区域，也是台湾历史跃上世界舞台的锁钥。区域内有安平古堡与亿载金城等知名历史古蹟，各国在百年前通商留下的洋行遗迹，与跟历史痕迹共生共存至今的树屋，在当时颇为国际化的安平留下许多美丽的故事，与运河一同缓缓的在历史中流动着。安南区有台湾历史博物馆以现代绿建筑的样貌座落其中，近海的四草大众庙旁有着由红树林构成的绝美绿色隧道，搭管筏缓缓地在河道上移动，两侧的寄居蟹与弹涂鱼等住客都会跟你打招呼，闪烁在树林间的阳光陪伴着你度过一小段有如无人亚马逊的宁静空间，接续来到鹿耳门溪出海口欣赏府城天险的夕阳，造访全台湾仅有守护郑成功庙的西洋赤脚门神，让台南之旅充满传奇。

MASSIVE Statue in a Somewhat Hidden Location

If you walk along the coast of the Anping district long enough, you'll happen across Lin Mo-Niang Memorial Park. It's a relatively small place, but at its heart lies an enormous statue in honour of its namesake.

At first I was delightfully surprised to see a statue of a woman in a city in which I'd only seen statues of the warrior/general and part mythic figure Kuxinga. And then I read more about her and was even more interested: she is a sea goddess also known as Mazu. It made so much sense that this massive statue was placed right at the coast, overlooking the sea.

Although you won't spend much time here, it is a wonderful piece of art with an interesting story.

Lin Moniang Park, the full name is Lin Moniang Memorial Park. The most conspicuous statue of Lin Moniang (Mazu) in the park was donated to the city government by Xu Wenlong, the founder of Chimei Industries. The statue of Lin Moniang is 16 meters high and the base is 4 meters high. The stone chosen for Lin Moniang's statue is "Baifeng Stone" (a type of granite), which is a stone that can withstand sea breeze for a long time.

可在此觀賞夕陽西下多變的雲彩

林默娘公園在台南安平區，佔地面積兩公頃，民國九十三年四月正式對外開放。林默娘公園的建造工程共斥資兩千多萬元，由台灣著名奇美企業旗下的奇美文化基金會所捐建。公園內有大片翠綠的草地，可以帶孩子到此放風箏，也可在此觀賞夕陽西下多變的雲彩。園區有多座大型雕像，媽祖林默娘的雕像皆雕製為少女的模樣，並設有「孝女成道」之石碑，意在期勉青年能學習媽祖的孝道精神。公園中最特別的就是林默娘花崗岩雕像，這座雕像高度為十六公尺，基座為四公尺，是中國廈門大學李維祀教授的創作品，柔美又不失莊嚴的雕像正望著安平港口，就像在守護著海上來往的船隻。
