This has to be one of, if not the best English Taroko Gorge tour in Hualien.
We booked quite late (the day before actually!) and Island Life were more than happy to arrange a tour for us, even though we were the only two people booked for the day!
We were originally tossing up whether we could explore the gorge by ourselves, but are glad to have selected the Island Life tour. Iris was a wonderful guide who enthusiastically showed us around Taroko Gorge. It would have been impossible to reach all the gorge highlights without her expert knowledge and driving skills! We can't speak highly enough of her knowledge and excitement that made the tour 5/5 for us.
Not to mention the gorge itself was was simply out of this world. The tour ran all day but it went by in a flash.
If you are exploring Taroko Gorge from Hualien, you must use Island Life. Say hi to Iris for us!

Alan was a great, knowledgeable and enthousiaste guide.
He gave us a lot of interesting details about the area. He made sure everyone was fine and happy all along. He was very generous with his time and we finished the tour long after the normal hour!
He made our day a wonderful experience!
If I ever come back I hope hevwill be available!

Leuke tour waarbij we veel bezienswaardigheden hebben gezien zonder het gevoel van haast te hebben. Prachtig nationaal park!
De gids sprak goed Engels, was gezellig aanwezig en wist een hoop te vertellen. Als laatste heeft hij ons zelfs nog een locale lekkernij laten proeven wat het helemaal af maakte.

I went on a group tour to Taroko gorge. I am traveling solo and Taiwan is the first of many countries, and this was my first group tour! I am very happy that I chose to do it and it has certainly given me the appetite and confidence to do more tours I'm future. Alan our tour guide was fantastic and it was great fun spending the day with a local, as well as the rest of the group. Especially a lovely couple on their 30th wedding anniversary. Alan's English fluency was absolutely spot on and I also had the opportunity to practice some Mandarin. Thank you for a lovely day.

I was debating between taking a tour or self guided trip to Takoro Gorge and I was happy I took this tour. Our guide , Iris, picked us up from our hotel at 8 am and we were able to see most of the highlights before the crowds arrived. She drove us in her van to all the main sightseeing locations, while giving us some background info of the area. Iris was great to talk to and spoke good English. I liked that this tour didn’t waste time with random shopping stops and was more efficient than me navigating to all the locations on my own. I highly recommend Island Life Tour and guide, Iris.

When planning our holiday to Taiwan a visit to Taroko Gorge was a must. From our very first enquiry Jamella was super helpful with all of our questions and booking. Our guide on the day, Santa, was very knowledgeable on the local area and the history. Made us feel comfortable straight away, even brought some bananas from his own tree for us. We had a great day and loved the whole tour, such a beautiful part of the worls

The tour was really fun. Alan the tour guide was fun, entertaining, informative and not boring at all. We kept busy hiking, walking the trail from place to place and he explained what things were all with a great sense of humor that made it fun. You can tell he really likes what he’s doing and was a genuinely nice guy. And the group was fun also and we all felt like we had met other adventurous people who felt like we had a fun positive experience. It didn’t feel like a ‘canned’ tour - very fun and genuine. It was also fun because people on the tour participated in it by chatting and being social also which made it fun.

Alan was the guide for my group. He made sure that we were all well-taken care of. The tour was efficient and well organised. Alan was enthusiastic and took great effort to engage the group, which I appreciated. If you need an English speaking guide, this company is recommended!

We had a great day tour to Taroko National Park with our guide Alan and 3 other participants. Alan is a very professional, funny, knowledgeable, and proactive guide who took very good care of us and took us to many beautiful places before the big tour busses came around. He enthusiastically shares insider knowledge in great English (he's Taiwanese) and took pictures of all of us. The traditional food we had in the park was delicious and we can wholeheartedly recommend Alan and this day tour. 謝謝 Alan!! (Nora and friend)

Such a wonderful tour. Alan was the best guide ever. He is so enthusiastic about the beauty of his country and willing to show you the best places. I had really good time. He was also so kind to let me visit the beach that was out of the tour. For sure I will be back for another tour with them. Highly suggested

Hi! I want to book this tour but i will be staying at Xincheng which is near the park entrance. Can the driver pick me there? And on the way back, i don t mind... I just don t want to go to Hualien for the pick-up in the morning
