捷運中和新蘆線行天宮站3號出口出來後右轉直走，經過屈臣氏，在Giordano、HangTen前松江新村站，搭乘9069公車(約45分-9個停靠站)後，在桃園榮民醫院站下車。面對桃園榮民醫院向左沿馬路直走，約五百公尺就會看到右邊的階梯入口啦！

The Taoyuan Shrine is faithfully preserved from the Japanese colonial era (1895-1945). Remants of other shrines may have some tori, but the Taoyuan Shrine is a beautifully preserved piece of architecture. Following Retrocession to China, the occupying mainland Chinese destroyed many Shinto shrines, including the main Shrine on the Yuan Shan Mountain in Taipei. This shrine honors Japan's martyrs, who fell defending the Empire. The people of Taoyuan are to be commended for preserving this memorial to times past.

印象深刻~國中時候該神社也面臨拆除或保留爭議，美術老師再三向我們強調它的藝術價值~到現在每次去我都會特地看銅馬及浮雕

台湾の最も特色のある観光スポットの一つは、台湾の他の神社の遺跡よりも次第に枯れて消えていきます。桃園神社の外観は日本治の時期の外観と配置を忠実に保留しています。例えば、鳥居、本殿、拝殿、社務所、参道、石灯籠など。

This Shrine is situated just out of Taoyuan City. It is a fine piece of architecture, which has remained almost undisturbed since the Japanese colonial period (1895-1945). The Shrine lack the noise and smoke of traditional Taiwanese temples, stressing reflection and harmony. The fengshui is auspicious, as it is in a mountainous region overlooking Taoyuan city.

忠義公園から虎頭山公園に向かって歩いている時に神社前の広場でお祭りの様なことをしていたので立ち寄りました。神社を参拝してみると完全に日本式の神社の感じでした。

It is possibly the best preserved Japanese style shrine outside Japan, structure and design , garden all faithfully preserved to original condition, and recent repair and refurbishment as well as major restoration work to original condition , thanks to hard work by the Taoyuan city council has help make it even closer to original.
It is still more or less looking like it was just completed during Japanese era. vegetation and garden faithfully and beautifully restored to the original condition , repaint in original colour followed closely to original .
Of course this shrine has dark history during Chinese nationalist era, added some Chinese element to it, but this somehow helped kept this shrine very close to original condition without been torn down and demolished like other Japanese shrines in Taiwan and the rest of Asia, and becoming the only well preserved Japanese shrine outside Japan.
Helped by hard working volunteers provide free guided commentary (believe offer in many languages too) and history insight at the shrine, well worth a visit

綺麗に再建された、日本の神社です。神社について詳しくはありませんが、関東の神社というよりは、より歴史のある、西日本の神社のような作りでした。
ほぼ、当時の趣のままに再建されたそうなのですが、鳥居だけは、通常は上部の横に二本あるところが一本しかありません。聞くところによると、国民党が日本との関係を断ち切ると印象付けるために撤去したものの、現在ではその負の歴史を記憶するためにも、あえて一本のままにしているということでした。
