The trip to Mudan township is the most unforgettable one for me. I enjoy watching views and learning culture. Therefore, with the spectacular scenery and the culture of Pai-Wan tribe, I got to relax yourself and learned new things at the same time.
It was a sunny day, and the sky was blue. On the way, I kept seeing outside through the windows of the bus because of the beautiful scenery.
If I have to describe how beautiful it is, I will say every picture you take is going to be the best! After we arrived and put the luggage in the hotel, we took a walk in the moutains. The air was fresh, and we saw two or three eagles flying up high in the sky. It was not an animal common to be seen, so I looked at them carefully trying to remember them as long as possible. After an hour or so, we reached the top! The view was totally different from the bottom.Sea there is also great in Mudan township! Sitting on the sand and listening to the sound of water washing ashore is really the most relaxing thing for me to do!Next, we had a local tour guide introduce the culture of Pai-wan tribe for us. He is a member of Pai-wan tribe in Mudan. He said that it’s sad to see how fast the Taiwanese culture disappear in this generation, but it’s also thrilling to see there are still people trying to pass on the culture generation by generation. Therefore, he came back and dedicated himself in promoting Mudan and the aboriginal culture to the world. I had a good time listening to him sharing ancient stories of Pai-wan tribe. The most interesting one is how the “first” human is created. In Pai-Wan tribe’s legend, the sun is in relationship with the pottery and laid the egg in the pottery. After that, the Hundred-Pacer, a kind of protected species in Taiwan, stays aside the pottery to protect the egg until it hatches. It is this moment when the “first” human is born. Due to this legend, the tribe believes that human is the son of the sun and never harm the Hundred-Pacers. There are much more amusing things you can do and find here. Don’t let the chance slip away! After the trip, I have a stronger feeling about the land Taiwan I’m living, than before. This generation is so developed that we hardly gaze upon the surroundings and miss the beauty near us. We are supposed to be close to the nature, not computers or cellphones. We are given so many but we forget; it wasn’t until what we get used to disappeared that we knew we’ve lost something. Something more important than the technology. The real world is where our feet step on.
