It was fun going up Keelung Mountain. Do note that it’s stairs all the way and at some parts the stone stairs are not even.
The way is quite steep, so it does take a certain level of fitness. However, there are many rest stops on the way. You’ll pass by two pavilions where you can rest and admire the view before heading to the peak.
Some parts of the stairway do not have rope holds. So do go slow and be watchful of your steps.
The view at the top was amazing though, and it makes all the hard work all worth it.
The entrance to the Keelung Mountain Trail is a short walk from Jiufen old street. Best to tackle this before heading to Jiufen to feast up.

It was a such a pleasurable drive through the mountains. The sights on both sides gave way from city to pastures to mountainous terrain and river water. It was all good.

基隆山位於台灣的東北部，山雖不高，但在濱海地區雄踞一方，頗有大山的氣勢，名列台灣小百岳，也是九份的地標之一。
基隆山步道主線是陡峭的石階路，沿途有三個觀景平台和三座涼亭可供休息，山頂還有360度展望的觀景平台和一座天線基地台，可眺望鼻頭角、深澳漁港、金九聚落、八斗子、基隆港、和平島及基隆嶼一帶，無耳茶壺山、半平山、燦光寮山和南子吝山等名山皆歷歷在目

基隆的小百岳六號，
位在九份老街上面，
旁邊有停車場方便，
假日人很多要注意，
步道旁小花很可愛，
步道樓梯凹凸不平，
有點像大屯主峰道，
小心縫隙會拐到腳，
直直向上走都樓梯，
有三座涼亭可休息，
來回走剛好一小時，
山頂360度美景讚，
可惜那白牆跑來亂，
一星兩分，我給八分，
評分:8/10分。

東北角幅員雖不大，卻多有山海好風景，基隆山渾圓造型，多個景點視角，總是吸睛！
多次試查登山口，受自平地馬路起登的先入為主觀念影響，多次尋而不得，戴上網查詢網友遊記，才知其實就在九份，令人啞然失笑，這樣一來由於已從半山腰起走，心想難度應不高！
待找到登山口，看到登頂距離約900公尺，初段坡緩，不多時開始爬階，常見藍色蜥蜴受到驚擾，倏忽隱沒，此後台階出乎意料之外地多，幾個轉折，一路直上，不過台階雖多，步道卻是寬闊好走！
下山好奇試數階數，約1500階，爬時不覺太辛苦，回家後竟鐵腿數天，不可小覷！可謂是～

Der hervoragende Blick auf die Nordküste von Taiwan, die Stadt Jiufen in Verbindung mit bequem (per Linienbus) erreichbarem Ausgangspunkt machen die kurze Tour zum Gipfel zu einem lohnenden Abstecher beim Besuch von Jiufen. Ein Treppenweg führt in weniger als einer Stunde zum Gipfel, auf dem ein Pavillion steht.

Amazing view from the top of the Keelung Mountain !

วิวสวย อากาศดี เดินได้เรื่อยอยๆแต่อาจจะเหนื่อยหน่อย แต่ถ้าแลกกับวิวที่ได้เห็นคือคุ้มมาก หายเหนื่อยเลยค่ะ

Is it too hot to do this hike in July (with kids ages 6 and 9)?

Can arrange after 2pm, also see the great sunset on the top of mountain. Suggest walk left trial road not the stone step .
It will more easy to walk with good view but only take more than 15-20min compare stone step. Around 90 minutes can walk to the top!
