There are many different kinds of food to choose from, especially Karaoke chicken, ice cream, and red tea are the most famous. You can also rent a bicycle to travel around the town.

I'm in a lakeside hotel here for three nights. From the Shuishu side, the bus costs 30 yuan every hour or two, and the ferry costs 150 yuan every half hour. The area is crowded with day-trippers during the day, but decreases in the evening. Hotels on the lake side seem to be thriving, but not much else. Many shops sell alcohol, but few others. With limited food options and resort prices, it's hard to say it's crowded.

one of the stop of the ferry in sun moon lake.
it's like night market on taipei, with many small food stand, especially selling tea and wine for souvenirs.

It is a lively old town and very lively. You can sample teas. However, they never try to force you to buy anything, so you can walk around with peace of mind. I was able to sample Taiwan Tea No. 18 (Red Jade). Transportation is more convenient on the Shuishe side, but the food is more substantial on the Date Thao side. You can also get there by ferry from Shuishe.

From the outset can I say that if you have a phobia toward owls then Ita Thao village is not for you. The village is obsessed with them. There is a story behind this obsession and now they trade commercially from it.
There is basically three short streets that have shops selling all different types of Taiwanese foods and souvenir shops selling everything you could think of portraying owls.
Located right on the harbour with seating around to sit and take in the water views.
I really enjoyed my stay here.
My only disappointment was not being able to buy an owl design t shirt. Very few t shirts to be found anywhere.

賣得商品差不多的商店街
日月潭紅茶飲料店和紅茶包和小米酒等等，還有小吃，香腸，雞蛋糕等等
老街的範圍也不大，大約30分到1小時就可以逛完，假日人潮滿多，有些路段也禁止開車進入，逛的更安心，可買買拌手禮回去

由於伊達邵碼頭是搭乘遊艇的重要據點，且為回復邵族傳統水陸文化，故自2007年將碼頭旁原名「伊達邵商店街」的零星商家，集結成為佔地約328坪的「逐鹿市集」，市集中包含有各式藝品店、邵族風味餐、美食小吃以及原住民農特產展售，讓聚集到這裡的旅遊人潮，除了品嚐邵族美味料理之外，還有著名的日月潭紅茶、香菇茶葉蛋、山豬肉刈包、小米麻糬等，沿路吃到飽、逛得開心。

以前到日月潭玩大部分在水社碼投商圈活動，很少到伊達邵商店街，即使有來也都是白天，所以印象中這裡就是普普的而已。這次全家來日月潭，因女兒想到伊達邵商店街解決晚餐，所以特別於傍晚時刻來，發現伊達邵商店街比想像中熱鬧，碼頭平台也有街頭藝人表演和藝術展覽，吃的商店很多樣，唯一不便是很難停車。
