There is a paid parking lot next to Zhongzheng Park, which is convenient for parking.
Zhongzheng Park is very deserted on a rainy day. There are no tourists or vendors at all, but it feels more peaceful.
You can enjoy the scenery of Keelung Port from the square in front of the huge Guanyin Bodhisattva statue.
You can also enter the huge statue of Guanyin Bodhisattva through the Ping An Gate and go up the four-story steep staircase to the top to overlook Keelung Port.
If you have time, you can come and take a look.

- As the temple is located at the top of a hill, its good to get a transport up, then walked down.

Particularly motivated for a good walk, we came here from the port below. The walk is solid, but nothing impossible. The statues are impressive, but we can see that they deserve a lick of paint (especially the Fu). The view is obviously spectacular. The whole thing is definitely worth a visit, if you discover Keelung. Would we come a second time? Probably not.

This park has a number of attractions, including the Laughing Buddha, who is said to take away cares and unhappiness. It also contains a statue of Guanyin, goddess of mercy and compassion. While for many visitors the park many not have religious significance, it is an insight into Taiwan's religious culture and belief systems.

駅から15分最初の門はすごい階段。
あがって、幼稚園の上を通り、道へ。
途中の門はただいま工事。
詳しい地図もなく、大仏と観音像のことを聞くと山の中を小さい階段で上がるとすぐといわれ10分歩くとつきました。
絶景です。
観音像にはお気持ちの賽銭をいれ、5階まで階段でのぼれます。

This is a typical park of a mid-sized Chinese city - very kitchy with a lot of local "attractions" for kids. It is not really a park by European standards.

小高い丘の上にあるお寺と大仏。大仏の中には入ることもできますが、階段が急なので気をつけないと足を滑らせる可能性があります。

Zhongzheng park is een park met drie delen. De onderste twee delen zien er wat verwaarloosd uit. Het bovenste deel is mooi en heeft uitzicht op de haven van Keelung.

First time visit to Taiwan, on a cruise, and Keelung, which is the port for the Capital Tepei, was our first stop. Most passengers were on trips to Teipei, but my wife and I decided to stay local and get some of the flavour of a small town, rather than a big city. We had noticed from our ship, whilst having breakfast some Temples & a large white statue on a hilltop, and I'd read up before the trip that this was part of a small park complex a short way out of the centre. Outside the port entrance we found a taxi who would take us there for US$20, wait 1 hour and bring us back, so joined by another couple from the ship, we gave it a try. after a short 15/20 minute ride which gave us a chance to see a bit of the town, we reached the Park, on top of a hill, which gave wonderful views over the Harbour and Town. What a delight this place was.Views apart, it contained a picturesque Temple, lots of interesting statues, overshadowed, by a huge white lady, which towered over the site and was the statue we could see from our ship. She was "the Goddess of Mercy", built to protect the sailors who left from the harbour. There were also numerous other buildimgs and lots of fairground style stalls & rides, which were quite busy; it was Sunday, so obviously a popular place for the locals. Lots of photo opportunities here and time went so quickly that our hour was soon up and we had to catch our taxi back. However for the info of anyone reading, best to organise your trip as a one way drop off only, spend as much time as you want, and then catch a taxi back as there were quite a few outside. Well worth a visit, but give yourself more than an hour.
