Beautiful open beach area with fantastic sea views, very close to the local airport. Hidden gem perfect for walks to blow the cobwebs away.

Can't believe We'd never been to Carrickfinn before. Such a perfect beach with glorious sand. We particularly liked the Boat Strand at the end of the beach an idyllic wee place

From the N56, we took the R259 & followed signs for Aerfort (Airport) & Trá (Beach) which brings you through the village of Anagaire (Annagry). This iconic blue flag beach overlooks Gweedore Bay & is beside Donegal Airport. It was staffed by two lifeguards on the day we were here.
It is a long stretch of white sand beach backed by extensive sand dunes overlooked by Mount Errigal. It has plenty of free parking. On a walk of the strand, I noticed shells, some seaweed but sadly also a few bits of rubbish & marine debris. I'm a firm believer in leaving no trace to places we visit so that we can protect places of beauty for our children and future generations. Keep it clean people🏖️❤️. I'd definitely recommend this beach for all and hope to return some day!

White sandy beach stretching to the horizon, crystal clear waters... On a sunny day you'd be forgiven for thinking you're in the depths of THE CARIBBEAN. The most beautiful beach on our Isle without a doubt. Immaculately clean and a beautiful walk either along the strand or along the sand dunes. Directly adjacent to the county's airport you can see why its been voted most scenic place to land. Truly a beautiful spot.

A long extensive stretch of sand next to Donegal Carrickfin airport -most scenic airport 2019. It is quiet and nice long walk up and down just watch the soft sand next to the stream area. Blue flag clean beach with white sand and shells. Ample parking in the car park.

Im Sommer mit Badeaufsicht. Grosser Parkplatz und kurzer Fussmarsch durch die Duenen. Feiner Sandstrand fuer Spaziergaenge und hervorragend zum Baden.

this beach has to be seen to be believed, it is so clean and staffed by lifeguards, beautiful white sand good for castles and shallow water quite far out. lots of places to just sit and relax, near to the small airport so sometimes planes to be watched,great wildlife and flora saw lots of burnet moths (black with red dots) and a big range of wildflowers. doggies allowed to be free but people seem to be particular about cleaning up after them so didnt see a problem, just a beautiful place to be

Situated beside Donegal Airport its no wonder it was voted the most scenic Airport runway in the World
Its just so tranquil and not in anyways crowded
with the airport hidden behind the dunes its just perfect

A most beautiful unspoilt part of the world....so take your rubbish home and don't spoil it for others.Sandy beaches, lots of parking, the odd plane landing beside you...yes this is one of the most scenic airports in the world. Great experience!

the main carrickfin beach can be quite dangerous as there are undercurrents however just a short walk away closer to carrickfin airport is a small beach in a bay and this is very safe .
