Long Pines do not throw a lot of shade, so this was a hot walk. That being said, it's near the beautiful Long Pine Campground and is a great way to see plant life that differs from the lower, swampier elevations. The trail is long, but you can go as far as you'd like and then turn around. Even though it was January, I saw some flowers in bloom as well as some butterflies. The view up through the pine trees made for some incredible photos.

Camped here twice. Very nice area with clean bathrooms and showers. Good walking trails. Lots of birds. Do not forget your bug spray. This is in the woods and at night the mosquitoes are serious about sampling you!

I camped at both Long Pine Key and Flamingo campgrounds in a tent and preferred Long Pine Key. Long Pine Key is only open November through April, though. The campsites here are more private by virtue of the trees and vegetation. The campground has water, nice restrooms, and showers. A significant plus is there were much much less mosquitoes here than at Flamingo. You can relax around a campfire here and enjoy it, not under constant attack. The pond has nice reflections of the tall pine trees in the morning. The campground is close to the must-see Anhinga Trail boardwalk (with a lot of alligators, turtles, and birds) and the park's east entrance. Pa-hay-okee overlook is also a nice stop with a short walk to a deck with a view above the river of grass. I saw an owl in the woods here by the overlook and was told you can see him here often.

Lugar ideal para realizar paseos en plena naturaleza y poder observar animales en su habitad mucho cuidado por sus senderos cocodrilos en plena libertad existe un camping donde poder acampar hay lavabos super limpios por el lugar remoto don de están ubicados se pueden conseguir planos del lugar en el centro de visitantes Ernest F. Coe lo recomiendo vale la pena los amantes de la fotografia vais a disfrutar.

Recomendable si quieres dar una vuelta casi en solitario. Por la mañana temprano es el mejor momento para visitar. Verá muy pocas personas y el aire es normalmente.

Der Long Pine Key ist ein sehr schöner Trail bzw. ein sehr schönes Gebiet im Everglades National Park. Es gibt ein sehr großes Binnengewässer, einige schöne Picknickplätze und endloss viel Wald, durch den man wandern kann.
Besonders viel Schatten findet sich in diesem Gebiet zwar nicht, wir genossen den Besuch in jedem Fall und empfehlen den Besuch des Long Pine Key während eines Everglades-Ausflugs unbedingt

This is a beautiful and small campground in the Everglades National Park. The park has two campgrounds and this is the smaller one. Closer to the main entrance to the park. Very quiet, no reservations taken, no electricity but there are water spigots, showers, trash cans and picnic tables at every site. The sites are well spaced and if the place is not full it is a great place to camp. Two weeks max stay. A bit warm in summer but less crowded. Mosquitos can be an issue in the warmer times of the year. If you have the federal land senior pass it is half price. Beautiful place and very convenient to be inside the park rather than to have to commute from the closest hotel area.

Adjacent to the campground are numerous trails through the pinelands. Early morning is the best time to visit. You will see very few people and the air is usually cool.

Diesen Trail würde ich nicht direkt empfehlen, seidenn man ist ein sehr geduldiger Mensch und begeisterter Vogel- und Libellenfan.
Falls man diesen sehr eintönigen und unspektakulären Trail dennoch entlangspazieren möchte - Mückenspray nicht vergessen!

This trail has trees all around. If you look close you look close you may even spot a few snails. Its a shorter trail but you do learn a few neat things if you read the signs along the way.
