This is a very easy little stroll around a paved loop. We even took a quick photo in front of one of the old fireplaces.

Great trail, Park needs more of these!

Simply beautiful walk in the woods. This trail being paved with a concrete sidewalk was perfect for my 80 year old mother to traverse. It is a half mile long loop and we walked it twice, once in each direction. The evidence of old homesteads was interesting and 1/2 along a rapid flowing creek was beautiful. The Park Service needs more of these handicapped accessible trails so those confined to a wheel chair or those who can’t traverse regular trail can still experience these walks.

Short but great for little kids

We went with our 5 and 7 year old girls. We walked around the short concrete path is perfect for stroller or kid bikes. Perfect place for a family with grandparents who are slower. The loop is a great size for everyone to go at their own pace. We also climbed around down by the river and threw in rocks.

Great for a very short, easy access walk, but not comparable to a good, fun hike
I'd recommend this for ease of strollers, wheelchairs, maybe even crutches or to just get a taste of nature. It is a fairly flat, paved .5 mile easy or as some put it, a nature walk. You will see a couple of very small historic structures and a creek that kids can throw rocks into. After hiking Alum Cave to the rock, this would be a ho hum for many who have hiked that or other great trails. Nevertheless, it gets a thumbs up for handicap accessibility with many handicap parking spaces, and super stroller and toddler friendly. You will however possibly be disappointed if you've been on a wonder trail like Alum though. We only went here because we drove all the way to Porter's Creek and it was closed and storms were expected so we picked something quick. The kids liked it well enough.

A good way to learn more about the area.

It has quite a few other trails off of the nature trail, but the nature trail is a good fairly easy hike where you can learn more about the native plants and see a cabin from when the Smoky mountains were farms. A trail for all ages.

Great Stroll with little kids

We had just gotten done doing the motor tour up Newfound Gap Road and needed a little break to stretch our legs. This was perfect to do with our 4 year old daughter because it was paved, and a loop. There was a river down below and old chimney fireplaces from the old lodges that used to be there.

Sugarlands Valley Nature Trail

The Sugarlands Valley Nature Trail is a mile or so up the road from the Sugarlands Visitor Center in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. It is not behind the visitor center leading to Cataract Falls; that is the Fighting Creek Nature Trail. This one is a flat and paved 0.5 mile loop trail that explores an area that used to include multiple homesites. There are chimneys and old rock walls that show evidence of what things looked like 100 years ago. It also goes along the River with multiple areas to access the water.

This is a fun and easy trail that anyone should be able to do and is a fun activity in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

Easy enough for all ages. Leads to a waterfall and pretty photo opportunity. We are not hikers and found this enjoyable. I would recommend this to everyone. We appreciate the staff of the welcome center for suggesting it to us.

An easy, flat trail that's wasn't crowded

This i more a chance to just see nature. It's flat and paved, really for ADA access. But it's also pretty. You can see an old homesite where all that is left is the stone chimney. And you might catch flyfishermen in the stream next to the trail.

Great, Short, Easy Hike

A great, short, paved trail through the forest (suitable for strollers), with places to get off the trail to see the beautiful river up close and some informational plaques. A great trail for those with young children or mobility issues.
