Sueer balade ! la vue a l'arrivee est epoustouflante. Preparez vos gourdes car la montee est intense et caillasseuse. Un passage avec des blocs a escalader, pente assez raide.

The Bench and Snow Lake Trail can be done together. Parking is in a small lot but we didn't have any issues getting a spot on Tuesday 8/3 at around 2:30 pm. This trail is 2.2 miles (roundtrip) with 446 feet elevation gain and the elevation was up and down which made it more difficult. There were quite a bit of mosquitoes on the day we visited.
On the day we visited, it was hot and muggy and thought this trail was just average. We spent 1.5 hours here.

This was such a beautiful hike and well worth every step. As other reviewers mentioned before, parking fills up quickly. The small parking area is only large enough for about 10 vehicles and we were one of the last to get a spot at 9:20am. It took us 2 hours to finish and people were circling the area waiting for an opening at that time. If you're doing the Nisqually Loop, definitely make this your first stop then circle back around. The map that the park rangers provide upon entry really comes in handy for location markers. There is a small portion of the hike toward the end that gets pretty steep and a little slippery if you're wearing sneakers like I was, but still doable. I really recommend taking bug spray as mosquitos and gnats were pretty rampant. We actually sprayed twice and let other hikers borrow some. The main trail leads to the lake, but you can cut off at Snow Lake Camp for a different view, or keep going on the original trail and even take smaller paths around the lake. The water is crystal clear and very cold. One brave soul jumped in and we heard his scream on the opposite end of the lake. Sitting on the edge of the peaceful water and enjoying the serene surroundings was the highlight of our trip to Mt. Rainier and we would absolutely do it again.

We only have one day to visit Mt Rainier, so we did paradise loop and the snow lake trail.
The trail is not easy nor short, moderate for us. It's about 1mile one way, and going uphill. But the lake is beautiful and worth all the effort. On the way there, there is another lake which we didn't stop, just directly went to the snow lake. There were only a few people there, quiet and peaceful.

Easy to moderate hike, with another long uphill stretch for the last 500 yards or so. Beautiful, changing sceneries, passing through forest and meadows and oftentimes with a view of Mt. Rainier. There is another lake on the way that can be seen but not reached. Snowlake is lake is clear and cold, and while the official path ends a quarter around the lake, you can hike much further for a view across the lake to Mt. Rainier. Just keep in mind: plants grow by the inch but die by the foot. Several people I encountered on my way back were unaware of that.
I just wanted to go up, take a look and return but ended up staying for hours, soaking in the scenery, the sun and watching two marmots foraging for food.
It is a rather popular hike and I got the last of the 12 or so official parking spots at 9:30am on a sunny Sunday morning. When I came back in the afternoon, cars were parked on the site of the road on both sides of it.

Very good place to visit. Not so intense hiking and you can go with family.even with the small kids.

So many great vantage points on the way up. And of course the finale of the lake at the end. In total the hike is around 7.2 miles. Very doable for people who are moderately in shape.

Be prepared for elevation changes on this hike! It's nothing overly strenuous, and it's nicely separated over the length of the trail, but there's a good amount of up and down on the trail, especially on the ends. The Lake at the end though is beautiful. If the weather cooperates, you can get some nice reflections and views.
Along the beginning part, right after the first elevation gain you'll walk through a field of blueberries. Depending on the season they may be ready to pick. Be on the look out for bears though, because this is their food of choice!

This hike was extremely packed, but if you are able to focus and enjoy the scenery it is so beautiful. I went with a group of friends in October and saw some amazing views at midday. We went very fast up and it took us about 3.5 hours roundtrip. We were unlucky that it snowed a bunch and the top of the hill there was a lot of snow and it was cold, but otherwise great hike recommend it completely.

Very few people on a weekday in this lovely short hike. A true alpine lake full of trout, turquoise blue and so clear. Perfect sunny day helped. Easy access to both lakes ( Bench and Snow) if wearing hiking boots. Bring a picnic. We were awed by the beauty.
